It sounds like they were going to charge for the Firefly panel but have now made it free since they aren't all going to be there.

Oh, maybe. I wonder why it wouldn't be on Saturday, if it's on Sunday I won't be able to make it.

The Firefly panel and Star Trek panel are both Sunday so far--which sucks because we'll have a long drive home Sunday. I may be able to make the Firefly one that'll be it. No Star Trek for me.

Well, they are started to get more information out about the convention but I'm really bummed about not seeing the entire cast of Firefly. At least I can start getting some sort of game plan for what to do with my time there now.

Man, that stinks! Although I guess on the upshot my wife did comment how having Wash there felt a bid odd since he died :lol

I'm planning on going Saturday and Sunday :rock

judge reinhold is going to be at madness comics in plano tomorrow from 10am-3pm for free comic book day in case anyone doesn't want to wait until DCC

Updated panel schedule

So when it comes to getting an autograph any tips? I'm only interested in getting one from Shatner, but since I'm not much of an autograph collector I really don't know how it works. I assume there are set times and I just go stand in line :huh

I know you can schedule time for the pictures, but doesn't seem like that's the case with the autographs.

I'm not sure what the times are for Shatner's autograph sessions. This convention seems to be set up to where you just wait in line when he's signing. Some cons sell autograph tickets like this one is doing with the photo-ops. Unless they announce something new I'm planning on just standing in line.

Some people require an autograph ticket--those are sold probably near the entrance, sometimes they also sell the autograph ticket when you go through the ticket line. If there's no ticket required then you just pay at the ticket line. The lines go pretty slow, for the popular people you can wait quite a long time--they'll probably be doing autographs all day except for when they are doing their photo op or going to lunch or a break. You then just wait in line until they get back. When you're getting the autograph done you can say something to them like "hey I really appreciate you being here" or ask a quick question, often times you won't have much more opportunity than to say something real quick so that they can get through the long lines. For Stan Lee though, they rush you through, you hand the helper person your thing to get signed and they hand it to him to sign and then give it back to you as you walk past. It might be similar for Shatner.

Some of the actors like talking to people though so you'll have to see what they're like. Robert Englund is really nice, so his line is slow since he likes to talk.

Thanks man :duff

Do they have restrictions on what they sign? I didn't see anything listed and I'm taking a vintage Mego figure. Hopefully it's not just pictures or stuff you buy in the line :lol

I don't know of any limitations, you can bring stuff like a poster or photo, or a collectible. I've been getting signatures on the base of the QMx Serenity miniature replica so they can definitely sign a figure.

take anything you want...hell, someone wheeled in a life size thor for stan lee to sign at a show in detroit a few years back. the only person i have ever heard of that might refuse to sign certain items is adam west

Most celebrities I've seen are pretty nice about signing whatever you bring. There definitely are some to watch out for (I've heard the same about Adam West). The only time I've experienced any restrictions personally was when I lived in London. My wife and I went to Forbidden Planet for a Christopher Lee signing after his autobiography came out during the time Return of the King was in theaters. People were in line carrying crazy stuff for him to sign--getting to see the stuff they brought made waiting in line all the more fun. When he finally arrived they announced he wouldn't sign anything but his book. God, people were pissed.

Thanks guys, really appreciate the answers :duff

Sadly, I thought I had a great item to get signed (a vintage carded 6" Mego). But when it arrived the card and bubble were great, but even though it's sealed the knee was broken :gah:

When I saw Bruce Campbell you had to buy a book and get it autographed (to be fair it was a book signing) but he would also sign one additional item of your choosing. I got a figure signed and since my wife was with me we didn't need another item besides the books so I had him sign a Birthday card for my brother :lol
