The FF always have a soft spot for me. Everything though about this film that has come out has led me to believe it is going to suck big time. From various cast members saying they've never read a comic book to them saying it isn't really pulling from the comics in general to what we've seen and heard about from Doom. I'm not very hopeful and expecting to do this at the trailer:

but who knows. Maybe it'll wow. Probably not but still.

Only Kate Mara said that and the synopsis proves she was wrong.

I'm looking forward to the trailer. We've kind of run out of things to mock about Genysis and it'll be nice to get some new material.

And if its a good trailer??

Uncanny Web-Slinger and or pturtle alone in the theater @ midnight showing:

:monkey3 :wink1:

Looks more like Fox hooked me up with a private screening for being one of the few people left on earth that reserve from bashing movies until they at least see a trailer :wink1:

It's amazing that every tiMe something new comes out about this movie, it sounds worse and worse. Sounds so bad.

It’s amazing that only the cast and synopsis are the only real info that has come out about this movie, everything else are just rumors.

Again, why is this movie getting so much hate?

All we know is that theres a great cast, its primarily using the ultimate comics for inspiration, Josh Trank is the director, and Simon Kinberg is the writer. None of those facts are negative, in my opinion.

And if its a good trailer??

You know the answer to that. :lol

Pretty sure Khev wants this movie to suck because he doesn’t Michael B Jordan to be known as the better Johnny Storm :lol

Then I'll be utterly shocked and will adjust my expectations accordingly. I have no problem changing my tune if a movie overcomes a bad build-up. I thought all the still images of DOFP looked pretty stupid across the board now having seen it I can say that it's probably my 4th favorite cbm of all time. So can it happen? Yes. Do I expect it to? Hell no. :lol

Actually it's the opposite. I'd prefer that people forget that Evans was ever in FF. I know he does too.

I love the FF, and think it's pretty short-sighted for people to say that the characters and stories aren't relevant anymore. Having said that, yeah. . .I'm not really optimistic.
Yep.

They could SO make a faithful film adaptation & give it all the bells & whistles it deserves.

They can also keep their 90210 faux 4. :moon

As much as I'd love to see a great Fantastic Four movie I haven't seen/heard anything yet about this one that makes me think it will be one. I would like nothing more than for the trailer to change my mind but I don't have high hopes. At this point I'm expecting an hour and twenty-five minutes of angst and talking with 10-15 minutes of what will be considered "action" only because it's somewhat more exciting than all the angst and talking. PLEASE let them prove me wrong.

My hate towards this film is for various reasons.

The one reason, I truly, TRULY, want FF to go to Marvel, is because I would seriously have loved to see FF in the comic Civil War, along with other things like Skrull Invasion, World War Hulk, and so many others.

I might be bias but Marvel doesn't crank out a home run every time, but out of convenience, it would be best if Marvel got rights back to everything. It's not like Fox/Sony would go and try to buy IM, Cap, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Daredevil and so forth. Like I said, I enjoy plenty of stories and for that reason I think it would be fantastic to see them on live action. I know the "books are always better", but I just love to see these fictional characters on the big screen.

As for this film; casting doesn't make sense to me. As for CBM, the cast almost never goes hand in hand until they are released on the big screen. Would people have thought Jackman a good choice for Wolverine, hell no. But he has done a killer job and so it fits. I think Downey is actually a pompous ******* at times, yet charming; so I feel he really is Stark. I can see Evans with the looks as Rogers, but I wouldn't go to say he was 100% spot on. So while I'm hesitant to completely **** on it; but Teller? Okay I get "Whiplash" is cranking out some buzz, but I would like to counter that with "Project X" and "That Awkward Moment"; not to mention that the latter also had his colleague Michael B Jordan.

I find Mara incredibly sexy, and she is enjoyable on "House of Cards"; but I don't see her as Sue either. And don't get me started on Jamie Bell as Ben.

Also I get they are going for Ultimate, but the Ultimate line isn't something a lot of people know of or enjoy, as it is pretty much New 52. When I got out of "Amazing Spider-Man (2012)", I heard a group of people saying why they went with that blonde instead of the sexy red head as his wife...exactly. So much wrong in that.

I still hold judgement and will reserve it, but I got some serious doubts about this. Just because Fox pumped out something hot, doesn't make it a streak. Let's look at Marvel, "The Avengers", a box office success, then we got hit with "Iron Man 3"; true still high grossing, but not exactly amazing (Mandarin anyone?). Then "Thor: The Dark World", still kind of eh, honestly success is based from cast of Hemsworth, Hiddleston, Eccelston, and on. Then finally we got "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and wow. Just wow. Took about a year and half (at least for me) for Marvel to get going again. So yeah Fox came out with "First Class" and rocked it, then "The Wolverine" and still rocking it (I think because of Jackman really), and then we got hit with "Days of Future Past" amazing. So can FF be stellar? Sure, but it can definitely lose the flame as well. Just my view, really.

^ to be honest it doesn't sound like you hate the movie as much as you think you do.

You know the answer to that. :lol

Yeah, they'll hate it anyway. Too much hate invested to change positions

Agreed. Taking rumour as fact and forming a concrete judgement before seeing any footage is silly. Like you said the only official info is the talent involved and synopsis.

The negatives should actually be seen as positives. Tranks last movie was acclaimed, the writer and studios last marvel movie was acclaimed and the cast all up-and-comers. Aside from the cast not looking like 616, since they're not meant to, how are those things bad?

They could SO make a faithful film adaptation & give it all the bells & whistles it deserves.

Could still be very faithful. Read the synopsis, it's quite accurate to the comic

I don't mean to open old wounds, but how did they crap on everything that made Superman distinctive?
It would be much a much shorter post if you could go over the ways that it didn't. . .the characters kept the same names more or less, and he was an alien from a Krypton that blew up and had super powers. That's about it. Not that suicidal Pa, dildo ships, Kote. . .er, codex, decapitations, ill-timed and off-target "humor," sad *******, mass destructing, endangered civilian ignoring, enemy murdering, U.S. military threatening "Hopeman," and general dreariness and depression aren't fun in their own way.

I can refute all those points (except the dildo ships) but I won't. Too much typing :lol

Except that people constantly do just that... both positively and negatively on this board. It amazes me that you read and post on these boards 18 hours a day and still are able to post so ignorantly about fellow board members and fail to acknowledge that here are plenty of movies where people have grown to accept them and plenty that were prehyped and people then changed their opinion and hated them. Of course it really says more about you that you have such an overall feeling towards the majority of posters and still have nothing better to do than spend the amount of time you do here. Why not go find a community where you don't seem to hold the majority of posters in such low opinion?

Most of the general audience isn't going to know anyways. Like that group you overheard. Gwen Stacy was Peter Parker's first love in the original comics. But people who have only watched the films have no clue. Maybe they even thought ASM was a sequel to SM3. :lol

You guys going to see Kingsmen?

It looks fun, no idea about the comic but i'm a fan of vaughn as he hasn't made a bad CBM yet for me.

I know I am, movie looks great.

Also the F4 trailer is going to be premiering with it in UK which comes out the 29th of this month, so it'll probably be on the web in about a week.

I'm really looking forward to the trailer. I'm not the biggest F4 fan, and honestly, most of what I know if from reading Spider-Man comics, but I think this franchise has a lot of potential. I hope it's better than the first two because I didn't care for those.

I kinda liked the first movie, I liked all the actors except for the Thing guy(he's like a giant potato).
