This community is no different than any other, internet or real life. If you open your coversation to enough people, in this case millions, you will have disagreements, etc.
What you do here is no different than any other member. People argue/debate but not to change the other's mind, obviously those passionate enough to debate should be pretty confident in their views, but we do it to put an alternate opinion/pov out there for everyone else. When you argue with a stranger, it feels hostile. When you do it with your friend, it's common place and you might even bust each other's balls and have a laugh. If you feel offended by people, it's because as you say, you don't see yourself as their friend. And there's nothing at all wrong with that just like irl. You aren't friends with every single person you've met.
It's the ones who are constantly crying about the other people and their opinion that don't seem to get this and whine about the community as a whole. Well, go use the private fan group feature, ignore/find another, or if you can't handle it, stop participating in the convo. You don't need an account here to view all the news and updates.
