Oh yeah, there aren't studio paid "reviewers" trying desperately to turn the audience around on this thing with click-bait articles. Random guy on internet website who can't possibly be a vomitous mouth piece for Fox says Josh Trank is a visionary... must be true.

Next they'll be telling us how making Doom a rag-wearing, computer hacker was a bold and impressive choice.

I'm not sure what people were expecting, it's not like there was anything suggesting that this would be a fun light hearted film. From the beginning they said they were going to do a serious film, all the casting they did was for dramatic actors, the directors last film was a serious and somber low key super hero movie.

I'm for one 100x more excited for this now having seen the trailer and seeing they are sticking to their guns about the film they set out to make. I'm even more excited that all the talk about this being Chronicle 2 was just a bunch people trying to stir the pot, hopefully the film itself is as good as the trailer is making it look.

i dont get why there is soo much complaining , its the studio who did x-men and for x-men they changed the costumes, the back stories to some degrees and the villain was wearing a weird version of his outfit and that turned out pretty damn good.
This is right along those lines and its looking pretty interesting. I dont get why theres so much complaining about this film since we only got one still and a teaser and for those wanting the classic stories , costumes and all that , well you got it all ready with the previous two and even then everyone complained . I say give it a chance , who knows , might be as good as edge of tomorrow, another film lots of people had complaints about, until release.

Plus i read up the Ultimate story backgrounds and stories , which this is based on, and its right on mark for what it should try to be.

If it's indeed terrible there will still be people arguing that it's good, at least for awhile. No one these days says how wonderful Ghost Rider or Green Lantern or The Phantom Menace is but when they first came out (especially the trailers) I recall some apologists scrambling to say how great those films actually were, just misunderstood.

Even compared to Ultimate FF, there's only how they got their powers, N-Zone portal, and Reed's relationship with Ben that's the same. Everything are liberties.

Admittedly, after casting and a handful of odd plot details were leaked I was ready to hate on this. While the trailer wasn't fantastic (lack of a better word) it did peak my interest some. I'd personally love to see a hardcore sci-fi film from this.

I think that's an angle the comics only took once in a while.

There are lots of comic books beside super-hero stuff, sci-fi included. But HEY! Maybe we all need "durc n griddy" sci-fi in a superhero franchises about people with superhuman elasticity, rock-like skin and red capes. Hollywood producers know better.
