Hmmm trailer made me curious, I have no expectations for this movie since I don't care about FF though.

There are lots of comic books beside super-hero stuff, sci-fi included. But HEY! Maybe we all need "durc n griddy" sci-fi in a superhero franchises about people with superhuman elasticity, rock-like skin and red capes. Hollywood producers know better.
More sci-fi on cape stuff doesn't hurt at all.

If everyone stays home and not watch this, the BO will be terrible and then FOX will likely give this back to Marvel

It doesn't, but only when "cape stuff" can brightly shine through.
What? No like the new hip term? At least I didn't use cape****.

You're right though, but more sci-fi is not the problem when appropriate.

MCU Thor is a good example of when's not appropriate, you could say comicbook heroism shines through on his movies, yet it doesn't make the sci-fi in it any less dumb.

On it's own, the trailer looks like something I would watch just because there is obviously a rock monster in it. As a FF movie, considering the lead-up rumors and chatter, it looks better than I expected, but nothing like a FF movie I would want to see. I think dismissing the original source material as too dated to appeal to modern audience is just lazy, Hollywood ********. I'm not familiar with the Ultimates version so I can't speak to that.

My gut reaction is this will be a one-and-done. I'd love to be surprised and blown away.

There's sci-fi in the Thor film? I always saw the Thor world and films as fantasy, similar to LOTR.

Doesn't look as terrible as I was expecting but then I also thought Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance looked badass until I saw that steaming pile of **** in theater. I will say though that if they hadn't posted the typical marvel stuff at the beginning and the movie title, I would think this was some random sci fi movie.

FF4 came out during the counter culture that was Vietnam, civil rights and the resurgence of feminism.

A family with colorful personalities that matched their colorful costumes trying to cope with each other and society, all during the not so colorful backdrop that was the 60s.

It's amazing how much of the family dynamics Tim Story actually got right, unfortunately he also got lots wrong.

Here we are today with a seriously serious trailer warning us that human progression is fraught with risk and sacrifices, these are not super powers at first, they are a curse.

Could be worse considering that this movie being like most others coming out of left wing Hollywood could've just been a mirror of our own current cynicism and mistrust of anyone with power and fame.

Who knows, it could still go there, but for now this teaser only suggested that sometimes bad things happen to good people.

**** it, I'll be there to see the results. :lol

Fingers crossed for no Tornado suicides.

Looks good so far can't really speak to the costumes ,but its looking nice in any event it's a marked improvement over the previous version.

the resurgence of feminism.
The FF gave us a version of feminism that I can get behind.

Hear here! :yess:

Hope springs eternal . . . BUT

(Considering Marvel has decided to axe the FF as a print entity, it seems they no longer intend to wait out the middle-management beancounters??)
