I thought everybody's acting was on point, there's really no bad acting imo, perhaps maybe Amy Adams has some weak moments.

I felt Amy Adams, Diane Lane, and the Clark Kent kids, were really bad.

Fishburne, Crowe, and Costner were okay.

Harry Lennix , Cavill and Shannon were solid though, but you're probably right it was mostly Goyer's fault. The dialogue wasn't the best.

Still though, I think Snyder has something to prove, BvS might bring out the best in him. I pretty much love everything I've been hearing about BvS and DC's cinematic plan. Only problem I really have is the Flash's casting, everything else I'm on board with.

You have to be one of the most level headed dudes around here man, you don't give into the hype negative or positive :duff:

I feel optimist about the BvS script considering who wrote it and what we know about it through news and rumors.

ok i had to make sure i had indeed clicked on the fantastic four reboot page .
All the talk about batman vs superman and man of steel had me thinking i had clicked on the BvS tread

Thanks! I try man.

Same here, I've warmed up to the cast, and the rumors whether they're fake or real all sound great. Everything regarding this movie has been really positive and I love how they pushed it back to give themselves time to make a great movie instead of rushing it out to make money.

Seems to me they really put heart into this movie but in the commentary it feels like they're really inhibited by the internet's hatred atmosphere.

I wonder if there will be any mention of the X-men or something, haven't keeping up with news in that regard.

The one perplexing thing I have with this movie is WHY did they take this long to release a trailer?

Trank hates it when too much footage is given away too soon so instead he encouraged his actors to tell everyone that they haven't read any comics and to **** off since they'll supposedly be seeing the movie anyway. He also thought green screen stills of Ragman would be the perfect antidote to the horrible trend of releasing trailers too soon.

Makes perfect sense!

I need to get a copy of that 1994 FF film!!! :lol

I can appreciate a lot of the perspectives here over the last page or so, but at the same time, I think Fox has already gone the light-hearted route with the first 2 movies. It kind of worked, but not really. Why would they reuse the same formula?
The 2005 & 2007 films had their good & bad points, but ultimately all the parts combined made for a lack luster result. It wasn't that they weren't serious enough or vice versa, just a combination of misfires that outweighed the good stuff. They can TOTALLY do a faithful representation of the classic FF like the way GOTG etc have been successful in proving as mentioned. It's just the hands these characters are in don't give them much of a fighting chance.

Really - it's all about balance, & the right team behind the project. While this new film could well be great - it's not going to be classic FF fare. I'm glad I at least have those earlier FF films to enjoy right now. Sure, they're a bit on the nose, but every time I see Chiklis channeling a page right out of a Kirby book.. I'm at least satisfied that Ben Grimm got his time on screen.. & they got him right. :)

For me it's pretty simple--they were terribly written and directed, with questionable casting decisions for Reed, Sue, and Doom. Once the decision is made to bring in the guy from "Barber Shop" to direct, there's only so much you can expect, though. I remember when the news first started hitting about those originals, and that plus the casting made me very skeptical. Turns out, as usual, you could gauge pretty well what you were going to get at that point.

Yup. Other than Torch and the rock guy, everyone else was terrible to watch.

And the big finale battle in the first lasted what, 20 seconds? :lol

I remember Silver Surfer in the second one and not much else.
