I'll still give it a shot. The trailer looks so-so. The poster looks good. Thing is the scale I would have expected vs. the old FF movie. While I'm a Classic FF fan, this version is primarily based on Ultimate FF. Marvel opened that door when they created the the Ultimate FF storyline.

While it would probably never happen, it would be pretty cool if Marvel and FOX worked out a deal where the classic FF could be featured in Infinity War in a few scenes.

So he was here when Marvel got a lot of hate too? Like Hulk, Iron Man 2, First Avenger, The Avengers, Iron Man 3...

Or just for two of their widely considered bests?

You also weren't here for First Class, or The Wolverine, lots of hype and excitement for a new direction, especially the costumes and team members.

People pan and love everything selectively, the notion of some studio loyalty is ********.
I don't remember there being much hype for First class or Wolverine. I do remember many people bashing the First Class trailers and stating that The Wolverine was going to be crap like Origins, or that they should have done a film about a different X-men character, etc.

Lots of people bashed Iron Man 2 & 3, but the thing is, they'll still go on and on about how Marvel Studios is the elite "Godfather" of comic book films. They expect every future MS film to be quality while claiming every non-MS film will be crap.

I guess that's true to some extent, but I only think a small handful of people are using it to dictate their opinions. X2 is my favorite all time superhero movie. Days of Future Past was my favorite from last year. I'm pretty optimistic about Suicide Squad, despite WB's ineptitude on lots of other fronts, and rank the Nolan films very highly. But I also really enjoyed almost all of the Marvel Studios stuff. Spider-Man 2 is also high on my list of favorite comic films.

I do think you are going to have less variation in quality in Marvel Studios, because Feige has such tight reigns on that ship. But you will also have creative limitations that may mean the best possible movie won't always result. But ultimately, I base my expectations much more on who is writing, directing, and starring than producing. But I can see that if you are a real "homer" who really does see the studios as the only means of judging the goodness of a movie, that it's hard not to lump all the fans into categories in the way you would movies. But Trank =/= all the Fox superhero movies made before. And even if he was, X3 & Wolvie: Origins = :monkey4

I agree, I've made it clear many times that I think X-Men Origins is the worst superhero movie of all time, X3 was terrible too and I found The Wolverine to be mediocre. I also came out and said I was a bit disappointed with the first trailer released yesterday for F4, I really have no studio loyalty. Maybe some people feel that because I did join here once Fox started putting out some quality stuff. I'm excited for Ant-Man, loved Daredevil, happy to see Spider-Man at Marvel. Do I feel most of what MS has put out is mediocre? Yup, but I also have no problem admitting when they make a quality superhero flick.

I hated MOS, but i'm pretty stoked for Batman vs Superman and Suicide Squad. Only thing you can find me really against is Whedon. I do hope he changes my opinion of him with AOU though.

You've clearly not been here long enough, blind, or bias. Fox, WB, and Sony movies tend to be torn apart as soon as they're announced. You keep claiming you have no loyalty to to any studio, yet I find you in almost ever Marvel thread giving praise, then I find you in pretty much every other thread commenting about how bad these films look.

Plus I just said a few pages back that Ant-Man could very well be the best superhero movie of the year. It obviously bothers you when someone talks negative about a Marvel film. Just admit it man, you're a big Marvel fanboy, there's nothing wrong with that.

Every member here separates their expectations/feelings towards these movies according to the studio, Kara does to.

Maybe you should quit looking for me so hard. :wink1:

You've made up a lot of things in your head to argue against that aren't true, or you're using me as your catchall for all the other stuff people say, that I didn't, that bothers you. I'm thinking it's a bit of both. I haven't posted even once in either the WW or Suicide Squad threads. That's off the top of my head.
It's on you to quit lumping me in with your knee jerk reactions against the people in general who say negative things that involve one studio or another. I work on a case by case basis. :lol

If you need to hear it to feel better and know how wrong you are about me, Iron Man was pretty good, but I'll never watch it again. Iron Man 2 bored me. I haven't even seen IM3. Thor was boring. Thor 2 sucked. Cap 1 was fun and I like it a lot still, Cap 2 was very good, but wasn't very fun and I prefer the first. GOTG was a blast and I was rooting for it all along. Dang, you got me there. :lol Avengers 1 was also fun. A bit clunky at times, and convoluted, but it had to be to fit all those heroes in. But it worked and they built a team with a nice dynamic. I did not like Norton as Banner, and that movie suffered big time in my eyes because he never seemed to want to be there. Despite Ultron's wisecracking, which doesn't appeal to me, AOU looks to me like it should at least be fun, and that's all I want and need from comic book movies. That's all anyone should hope for.

I have hope and a positive outlook on some of those movies because I like the characters and admire Marvel's overall approach at a large movie and TV universe to reach as many non-comic fans as possible. So, what's wrong with that?

Looking for you? I was responding to a statement you included me in.

And if what you say is true, then sounds like we're wrong about each other. Hug it out?

I admit I do like the poster but still not a fan of Doom or Thing. Also casting still bothers me for all the characters. Luckily after watching Whiplash I could tolerate Miles Teller more than I usually did. Kate Mara is sexy, but just doesn't seem right as Sue. Never did like Michael B. Jordan, same reason as Teller but Jordan hasn't given me a reason to like him As Johnny. Bell as Grimm is like Melissa McCarthy as Elektra.

Powers looked cool in the trailer, and I too like the Dr. Storm angle. Still not a fan of the whole racial mix only as it feels too forced. Trank keeps talking about it like he has some forcing reason about it. If Reed has that awkward humor like the fist bump; I could dig it. I'm not convinced to go day 1, but if story is solid I'll go on a 5 dollar day. Also really wished they went 616 on this. I don't have a problem with using ultimate but it isn't the original. I don't know if people considered and notice but many don't like MOS as it wasn't classic supes. We didn't get a guy who uses his powers for good and uses t-shirts as his outfit. We got a dude who finds his alien parents armory and uses the armored suit To mess up ****. I liked MOS; but I'd love it more if it was classic; unless Fox has something up there sleeve for FF, I may be interestes. While MOS has bad moments I think the way it turned out was for the better basing off of the BvS trailer. (Sorry if I keep using MOS as an example ).
What I'm saying is the classic FF is what I loved and couldn't care for the ultimate. Also classic is the reason FF is the most lovable family. I think they messed that up going Ultimate. But can't blame them after the disaster of the first 2 films.

Really hope we can get some connection with the X-Men.

I thought the new trailer was great. I liked the first trailer, but this one blew that one outta the water IMO.

This movie looks milestones better then the trash starring Evans and Alba.

I think all four main actors are going to be great. (Not really familiar with the Thing actor though)

Everyone runs around these forums spouting self-righteous indignation. You're all guilty of what you accuse others of doing. What none of you realize is that...you are all beneath DOOM! Or ragman...trashman...Doctor interdoom...whatever his name is.

:exactly: :lecture :exactly:

Except me of course, I just dabble with lolcats.

doom looks awful, boring leads, they look like kids.

I'm with you on their ages, but I keep telling myself that the previous movies did have older actors, and well, you know the rest. :lol

:lol kind of why I hope the writers for this movie don't pull TOO MUCH from the ultimates books :lol

Well none of us are above the great lolcat overlord :lecture :bow

:lol
