Probably will be a surge near the end but it is concerning that it has slowed down to a crawl.

having some good tiered incentives probably would have helped. But I hate it when the crowdfund does not unlock all the goals,l.
Not really that concerning. That’s very typical of any Haslab during the middle. Things will pick up at the end and more then likely easily hit then goal and then some.

I just want the haslab criwdfunding thing to end.

Just make a dang product, slap a limited edition label on if needed then sell it. If they are concerned about lack of interest, just do a standard pre-order in a fixed window of time and then produce accordingly. The idea of a massive corporation needing to crowdfund a project is ridiculous.

That’s exactly what the crowdfunding is. It’s just a preorder that needs a certain amount to head into production. Kickstarters have been all the rage for years now and they’re playing off of the hype and profitability of that format. Some of these have failed so they’ve been able to avoid producing big ticket items that wouldn’t sell with this method. Yeah it’s not the best way to sell toys but if it means things that wouldn’t have any kind of shot a retail can become a reality, then so be it.

It isn't an ordinary pre order though. The timed stretch goals etc are a gimmick and basically them saying "we have all this stuff developed but we won't include it because you didn't order during the super short arbitrary window"

As much as I like what they've done with this, in light of things I wont be backing any longer, and have cancelled some other orders as well. Need to fast track some electronics purchases and save the rest

Yeah it's not looking good. Hopefully they do a video with Adam Savage soon, as that usually gives a huge boost to these Haslab projects.
IIRC, Adam Savage did a video with the JazzInc Batmobile 89 and that brought a lot of attention to the project but it had been long been sold out and on waitlist by then.

9,304 of 12,000 needed with 11 days to go.
I need to re-order so that’ll be a +1.

Had to contact Hasbro to cancel my order and get a refund because I got charged the full $467 upfront (instead of Dec 2) when I recently updated my payment method to PayPal.

Nope. Even if there's a big surge, I expect that will only bring it to 10,000 or so.

Which is a shame, because you can tell this is something they put a ton of work into and were very proud of.
