Theres a strong chance he'll be a better villain than every MCU baddie to date
Well that depends on whether he will be leader of all the baked potatoes in the world, or just the Russet variety. If he can get the sweet potatoes on his side, I agree he'll be pretty damn unstoppable. Reed may have to pull out the Ultimate Nullifier in that case.

I don't know if you're insulting Doom or Marvel's villains more to be honest :lol

:lol :rotfl :lol

The baddest villain in the MCU right now, is Nic Cage.

His Blaze was so bad, it was villainous. :huh :monkey4

Looks pretty good. At first I was a little annoyed that they yet again tied Doom's origin to the rest of them, but I can see it working anyway, having Doom blame Reed for his disfigurement(?) which is a result of the voyage that game the team its powers. I also like the whole Dr. Storm angle. Interesting.

It's not cannon (that I know of), but at least they seem to be treating the characters and story with respect and real thought.

Yea, there was also the unofficial info sparking hate, as well as going the Ultimate comics route, because for some reason every other superhero film is allowed to use the ultimate universe for inspiration except for the Fantastic Four.

It's hard to distinguish between the two sometimes in here, I'm with you on the voice though, I hope it's a little more menacing than what we heard so far. I believe Trank said he casted Kebel based on his voice a lone, so hopefully we get at least a glimpse of that next trailer.

If kebel can channel some of his koba ferocity into DOOM then we should be good. And no I don't mean the monkey grunting :lol

I don't know if you've been in this thread since the beginning but there have been people to come in here and declare this movie will suck based on the designs of Thing and Doom.

I can understand not liking the look of a character but saying how they look will in anyway affect the quality of their characters or the quality of the movie is ridiculous.

Auicksilver comes to mind. People hated the look but he became a fan-favourite character of the movie.

Oh, I guess I don't really lump the movies into categories based on the production studio. Particularly in the case of Fox where Bryan Singer, the primary mastermind of the X-Men, doesn't seem to have any involvement with the FF.

This is the position PT and a few other argue from most of the time. It's a studio vs studio thing for them, and it's not what I base my opinions on. I have no loyalty to any studio. They pay me nothing, I have no vested interest in their output aside from entertainment. I don't take a slam against a movie as a slam against the studio and take it personally like some do. It never fails, if something negative is said about this or another Fox movie, you can bet that the first defense is to point out something they hate about a Marvel movie, or the studio in general. That's so weird and foreign a place to base reactions on to me. I just like what I like.
Unless someone points out the studio, I don't usually know who is making a movie, nor do I care.

So far everything I've seen about this movie is as if the director took Sesame Street and tried to make Elm Street. :dunno

You've clearly not been here long enough, blind, or bias. Fox, WB, and Sony movies tend to be torn apart as soon as they're announced. You keep claiming you have no loyalty to to any studio, yet I find you in almost ever Marvel thread giving praise, then I find you in pretty much every other thread commenting about how bad these films look.

Plus I just said a few pages back that Ant-Man could very well be the best superhero movie of the year. It obviously bothers you when someone talks negative about a Marvel film. Just admit it man, you're a big Marvel fanboy, there's nothing wrong with that.

Every member here separates their expectations/feelings towards these movies according to the studio, Kara does to.

Everyone runs around these forums spouting self-righteous indignation. You're all guilty of what you accuse others of doing. What none of you realize is that...you are all beneath DOOM! Or ragman...trashman...Doctor interdoom...whatever his name is.

Could have sworn its 2015.

I'm starting to think you don't understand anything when it comes to time :lol

I can admit to being a hater of the Whedon's Avengers, not as bad as Deckard is with X-Men though, but normally I stay out of threads for movies I don't care about, but I have been pretty rough on Age of Ultron lately.

Yea, almost two years, You've almost been here long enough for 2 X-Men movies to come out so you could judge fairly. You haven't, but almost.

He has been here long enough to see how things play out, and I can vouch for everything he's said.

So he was here when Marvel got a lot of hate too? Like Hulk, Iron Man 2, First Avenger, The Avengers, Iron Man 3...

Or just for two of their widely considered bests?

You also weren't here for First Class, or The Wolverine, lots of hype and excitement for a new direction, especially the costumes and team members.

People pan and love everything selectively, the notion of some studio loyalty is ********.

I guess that's true to some extent, but I only think a small handful of people are using it to dictate their opinions. X2 is my favorite all time superhero movie. Days of Future Past was my favorite from last year. I'm pretty optimistic about Suicide Squad, despite WB's ineptitude on lots of other fronts, and rank the Nolan films very highly. But I also really enjoyed almost all of the Marvel Studios stuff. Spider-Man 2 is also high on my list of favorite comic films.

I do think you are going to have less variation in quality in Marvel Studios, because Feige has such tight reigns on that ship. But you will also have creative limitations that may mean the best possible movie won't always result. But ultimately, I base my expectations much more on who is writing, directing, and starring than producing. But I can see that if you are a real "homer" who really does see the studios as the only means of judging the goodness of a movie, that it's hard not to lump all the fans into categories in the way you would movies. But Trank =/= all the Fox superhero movies made before. And even if he was, X3 & Wolvie: Origins = :monkey4
