That article certainly shines light on what most of us here knew already, something wasn't right from the beginning.

Movie could still be good, but man do their costumes suck. :lol

I've got a feeling that unless this movie is a surprise mega hit the FF will be going home to Marvel. I do think it will perform around Amazing Spider-Man level, $400m or so worldwide. Which isn't a slouch. but probably won't justify $200m+ budget these movies cost to make. Not to mention putting a sequel on an unstable director who would probably be even more difficult the second time around. Marvel would have to give up something major no doubt, either a bucket load of cash or maybe some kind of a deal.that loosens up merchandising rights on X-Men since that isn't going anywhere. That way classic FF could show up in Infinity War and silver Surfer could show up in GotG.

Cash is no problem :lol

Yeah Galactus needs to be in the MCU. Captain America is running out of villains to beat up with his bare hands.

I think that estimate is awfully generous.. The FF are no where near as well known around the world as Spider-Man. It'll be lucky to break even at this point.

I hear you, but the international market drives superhero movies these days, and that can be unpredictable. Plus it's opening late in the summer when the competition in the action genre will be relatively light. So even if it only makes say, $100M-$150M US, it will probably pull in another $250M international (Amazing Spiderman 2 made $200M domestic and $300M international). But agree Spider-man is a bigger brand than FF, not to mention they are trying to make FF look more like a science fiction movie than a superhero movie, which might backfire royally. So FOX is probably watching the tracking data and prepping for that kind of a scenario, but no doubt hoping for a surprise. Regardless, unless it's a Green Lantern sized disaster they will try to spin it as a success, however I think anything under $500M worldwide and the license goes back to Marvel. It would just be a matter of the terms. It would make little sense to hold onto it, especially if Marvel were willing to cough up the cash, which is not necessarily a foregone conclusion. It's not like the FF property will have proven itself a box office draw unlike X-Men. But that's why I think part of the deal would likely involve more concessions on the X-Men license, like supporting the merchandising and comics within the Marvel brand because that likely translates into tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars being left on the table. I would not be surprised, however, if FOX tried to hold onto Silver Surfer (and Galactus), even though they would fit in so perfectly with the GotG universe that's being created.
I don't care if a standalone FF movie doesn't show up until phase 20, I would just love to see the classic team in the mix in time for Infinity War 2, even for just a few scenes. Thing and Hulk sharing the screen would be worth the price of admission. So hopefully any negotiations wouldn't be drawn out since those movies will shoot back to back beginning next year.

I'm not hoping FF tanks, just that it underperforms.

Despite my snark, I have a bit of sympathy for the guy. Sounds like he wasn't ready for this size project. He is 30, but I know some YOUNG 30 year olds. Hopefully he can take a lesson away from it and get his **** together. If I got fired from a SW movie I would haz sadz forever. :(

It was really good, I agree.

RR stretching though wasn't that much better than the previous movies, but also still need to see more.

I wonder if Jordan will go on to play Captain America?
