Blackwashing White characters is getting really old... why not just make new superheroes instead of throwing the White characters away?

Or how about finally giving some great black characters their own movie franchises? Off the top of my head I can think of:

- John Stewart Green Lantern (played by Idris Elba, come on it's so obvious...)
- Mr Terrific
- Static Shock
- Vixen
- Black Panther
- Luke Cage
- Deathlok
- Night Thrasher
- Bring Blade back (and why do those films not get credited for kickstarting the superhero/comic movie resurgence?)
- Spawn/Al Simmons
- Shadowhawk

Seriously, I'd throw money at whoever made a good Static Shock, Shadowhawk or Deathlok movie.

Isn't Black Panther in the works?

It's a travesty Spawn hasn't been revisted yet... McFarlane keeps talking out his *** how it's coming out at some point.

Apparently BP is in the works - surprised it took them this long. Honestly I'd have been quite happy with Iron Man 3 having Rhodes step into Stark's shoes/suit for whatever reason and lead into a solo War Machine - or better yet, much better yet, a The Crew movie.

Spawn should have been revisited years ago. Todd's weird and wants to reinvent it completely to put it on the screen, it needs to be wrestled out of his misguided clutches and turned into a movie completely faithful to the first dozen issues of the comic.

Don't forget about Simon Baz :lol

I've read countless times that he's ego maniac prick that charges way too much at signings.

Really? I had a couple of friends that went to comic con last year and they said he was the nicest guy in the world :lol

Supposedly of all the writers and artists there, he was the only one to actually stay and give autographs to everyone on his line and stayed after that to hang out and speak with them. They even took a video, based on that 30 second clip on their phone he seemed like a really nice guy.

- Black Panther
- Luke Cage
- Deathlok
Panther will appear in CW and gettin' solo film.
Cage will appear in "Jessica Jones" and gettin' solo series.
Deathlok appeared quite a bit in S1 of Agents of Shield and had a cameo in S2.

I bet he has good days and bad days like every human. :lol

Yeah, that wasn't Deathlok. Sensitive Joss can't even decide if that terrible series is canon or just a bad fever dream.

THIS is Deathlok.

Give me a movie about this please.

I thought Deathlok was a white guy with blond hair? At least my old 90's action figure had blond hair, regardless, the Agents of Shields version looks like a bad cosplayer. That one above looks awesome because he reminds me of Eddie from Iron Maiden, and that's cool. Plus it's a great design.

The original was a white guy, the above version, which is what the figure you had was based on (I still have mine somewhere LOL) is a black guy. Either version would be badass. I started building a 1/6 version but it's on hiatus.

There've been several over the years, the first was in his own continuity, the second lasted a single issue. The third and most iconic is the Michael Collins Deathlok.

I can't recommend the miniseries he appeared in enough. It's been collected into a convenient hardback with a catchy title if you want to read it.
