I find it funny people hated on the '05 film as much as they did. While not a great movie, it was tonally pretty faithful to the early Kirby and Lee comics. Even with the watered down Dr. Doom, if that EXACT film was released today by Marvel Studios (maybe with a different Torch,) the fanboys would eat it up.

That's a good point about the 89 film, it doesn't give you an origin at all... just a few scenes that show where he came from and how he's been tied in with Joker since his parents' death.

You gotta remember too, he didn't become Batman overnight... it was over a decade in the making.

8%. Damn. I thought for sure it'd hover around 20-25 like the new Vacation movie. This may be the worst movie of the entire summer. I mean Sandler managed to get 18% out of his money grab.
