I think @Nick D asked that before. From what I can remember, it's cancel now or go through with the purchase. There was another member that received the batmobile and reached out about something. Can't remember if it was paint related. Was it @Cthulhu ?
Yeah, I asked him directly if my car arrived with orange peel paint would he replace it or accept a return. He told me no he will not replace it, and that no refunds (not even refunds without the NRD) are offered after your item ships.

He told me if I’m worried about the paint, to cancel.

This.

Very odd how hard people are working to tell him to just shut up about the issues and only tell Joost about it. Why would you not bring up the QC issues to the community the same way people do for INART and Hot Toys? What makes this so special?

He should be doing both though. Bring to light the issues you got with BOTH cars but also reach out to Joost to see if you can get it resolved. Then also mention to the community that he took care of it properly, if he does as he seems very open to doing so. If he doesn't, that's something that should be mentioned to the community as well. There's a middle ground here and yet many seem to be leaning hard in one direction.

Joost was aware that some test copies shipped to America were experiencing issues and asked this of him. He still made a video anyway about the test batch car talking about the problems he had. Can he make a video anyway? Sure, but like I said in another post it feels scummy to me. It also absolutely contributed to the initial panic with this product which Joost was trying to avoid.

Also anyone telling this guy to keep it close to the chest and only communicate with Joost about it has the wrong take. He made a video about the test car replacement and then a video about the JazzInc "cult" without reaching out to Jazz at all for customer support according to Joost. The issue in my mind is more so that it seems his first thought was about creating an exposé instead of trying to solve the issues and including that information as to how things would be corrected in his video.

Like I said in my last post about this: this dude needs to take this conversation over to his DM's with Joost/Jazz as it is hijacking the thread and we are going in circles now. While I do have my thought about this, this topic is not conducive to the thread. It'll just end up being another locked DC thread.

What’s crazy about this entire situation is people who are overall upset with the product are in the overwhelming minority. That’s why there aren’t cancellations and only more people adding to the waitlist. You would think based off the narrative of this thread that it’s a catastrophe and everyone is disappointed when the facts couldn’t be further from the truth. I guess that’s the nature of the internet though. People who are happy with something move on with their lives, people are who unhappy scream from the top of mountain tops until they are blue in the face. Human nature is to be more drawn to conflict and negativity so that’s why those voices get amplified. Crummy human brains. To the majority of people super happy about this product - try to keep perspective.

Once again my words falling on deaf ears are you 100% incorrect. I was not the first one to being the issues to light.

Justin's Collection - made a 15 min video on the test vehicle but never indicated it was one which lead people to assume it was a final production.
Figure Craft - Did a live unboxing of the care
Sixth Scale Man and Brother Cousins Toy review both teased on their Instagram's reviews incoming but then didn't put them out right away. BC alluded that his had issues and people started asking questions as to what was wrong.
Big Breda did a live stream about all of this and they speculated as to what was wrong with the cars and why weren't any reviews being put out.

What I stated above is fact not made up, its all time stamped online and shows I was not the starter of this. Call me playing the victim I don't care but its false statements that do get me mad in the sense I started something.

You weren't the first to make a video on the test 89 car that is obvious and I haven't stated that.

What I have said very clearly multiple times is that Joost asked you not to make a review as some of the test cars shipped to America were experiencing issues and didn't want to cause unnecessary panic. I am not talking about other YT'ers. I am talking about you and the specific situation regarding you.

Hopefully that clears it up for you.

Also playing the victim? Bro I said that test car video contributed to the initial panic. Not that you alone started it. Definitely feels like you're trying to play victim with that one. Literacy truly is dead lmao

Edit: and here I am entertaining exactly what I said wasn't conducive to the thread. This is my final post on this. SMH

Edit2: If the situation is different what we are able to see in these videos or in comments remember that this guy has the ability to prove definitively otherwise. If I am wrong about the situation I have no issue admitting so, but going off what we are able to see and read currently my reasoning is as I have posted prior.

The guy seems to have a habit of referring to other people rather than his own actions (oh other people on Facebook, oh other YTers). Jazzinc asked him not to do a video review of test product. He did it anyway because he saw other channels had done it and rather than respect Joost he went and did it anyway for the views.

I know my actions all to well. I did the review so people can see what is happening and it turned out it exposed stuff that wouldn't have seen the light of day such as the dents, paint issues ect. And the fixes done were silly since the vehicle was already in production so when I saw my vehicle and test batch or not, I spent 1800 I, like others had every right to do what I want with it. Don't like...tough...

He said don’t put out a review for a test batch product because the intent was to test for issues. It is expected that there will be issues. That’s why you do a test batch. To iron out issues. It is completely useless to release a review for a test batch product because it’s unknowable how much may carry over to the final product. Whether or not issues were cleared up in the end was irrelevant at the time because we didn’t know how the final product would compare to the test batch. What are you not understanding?

It’s like him saying “hey man check this out we’re still working out some kinks though before final release” and you run and do a final review saying OH MY GOD LOOK AT THESE PROBLEMS.

What are the options here if we receive one of these with the orange peel paint? Has anyone been offered a replacement, or are they just told to return it with no replacement & receive a refund?

Mine hasn’t shipped, but I’d like to know if I’ll be screwed if it arrives with bumpy paint, with the only option being to return it and have no Batmobile at all.

I genuinely don’t want to cancel my order, but I also don’t want to be stuck with a Batmobile with bumpy paint since it’s “within spec”. It would be nice to know concretely if there’s an outcome where a replacement without the issue is offered.

joost is coming on here and putting in his 2 cents on certain topics... so i guess this is 100% directed to him:

@joost

are we to expect the orange peel paint effect we are seeing on the rear of the units or is this just an issue that there will be no consistency in finish? if it is not being addressed, is it your take that this difference in paint finishes on units you've been shown and are seeing acceptable to you?

I can't speak for anyone else, but my decision to back out had absolutely nothing to do with the Mr. Mom videos and everything to do with a screenshot posted to the Facebook group which clearly showed the mold indentations (I believe this was taken from the Brother Cousins review). From what I recall, Mr. Mom never even discussed the indentations in his initial reviews. In fact, Joost himself commented on the Mr. Mom Hot Toys comparison video saying it was fair. And then Justin's Collection released his review which raised eyebrows because it felt incomplete. The Mr. Mom videos told the full story and brought to light issues that Justin was, in my opinion, concealing. Personally I appreciated the Mr. Mom videos because they provided clarification to what was essentially a very confusing and botched rollout (call it a test sample, review sample, whatever).

As for the paint, Joost already addressed this in my prior post questioning the QC standards: what you've been seeing is what you're going to get. If you're not satisfied with it, there's the full refund option (*before shipment).

The issue with this, is the guy did a follow up video of the final release version, it arrived with QC issues and dusty to top it off. Clearly, Joost isn’t on top of what’s coming out of his appointed factory.

People have a problem with the review of the test batch version. That is the opposite of unfounded.
Ok but the guy did a follow up, reviewing the final version, what more do you want from a random collector? It’s as clear as can be that there are QC issues, him trying to fix them doesn’t erase them.
