I'm almost tempted to pay to see this. As someone who's perhaps too heavily-invested in the art and craft of filmmaking despite not being a filmmaker, I feel privileged to have witnessed this slow-motion train derailment into a nearby orphanage first-hand.
This strikes me as the kind of debacle there'll probably be a book and a documentary film about in ten years time. The sheer, monumental incompetence of all parties involved is staggering. Trying hard to think of anything this disastrous in modern memory - When Time Ran Out (1980) comes to mind, that film effectively nailed the coffin shut on the disaster movie trend.
Hate to break it to you, but unless you're going in with a checklist on how and why to hate it, it's really not bad. The masses suggest it's a monstrosity but its actually a decent UFF flick with a weak ending. Its a C at the lowest. Nothing amazing nor terrible.
The reason I'm replying to you is that I actually had a guy on Facebook this morning that I've known for years ask me if he should watch it just to bash it. I told him to check it out but to prepare for disappointment regarding the consensus of it being Garbage Pail Kids bad. He called me after he saw it and said he felt like an ***** because after making fun of it for days online he actually liked the movie. I praised him for having the maturity to eat crow.
