Its too bad Fass is stuck as young Magneto, I'd love to see him as Victor. They need someone who can own that role, this is a guy who kicked the Byonder's ***. :lol

Tbh, imo the casting of Doom is as equally as important as getting the FF cast.
Absolutely - couldn't agree more. Doom is a force to be reckoned with, & those contenders look like male waitresses.

Fass is a freak - a true man of his craft. I've said this before, but he'd make a sensational Hal Jordan too.

Fox... Idk man, they just wanna turn these films into whatever they want. That's how I feel about it already saying stuff "They're still gonna watch it," isn't all that grand.
Yeah, it seems that way with FOX doesn't it.. & what a silly thing to say, as an ambassador for the film, via that interview.

:exactly: Even if you think it... why voice it?

He's being bigheaded about it and the fact that he's getting hated he felt he should backlash. At least Affleck took it like a man and said look, just trust us and wait till you see the movie.

they got the source material all mixed up with this F4...

now it makes sense.

Probably true for a lot of people, for what it's worth. But yeah, some things, even if true, are better left unsaid. Particularly if you are a public figure who should presumably be promoting those films in a non-confrontational light.

How's this.

I just caught Letterman tonight, & he had Miles Teller (sp?) on.

He mentioned the internet backlash that he's received for getting chosen as Reed (sounds like he's cast), & he was like - "I don't care.. ehh I don't know people have this idea of who they think should play these characters, whatever.. my dad read the old comics.. ehh.."

..& Letterman was patting him on the back for it - probably in a jovial way more than likely, but still - there's something wrong there. :lol

They'll probably write Jackman a small role in it as Wolverine, to tie in the X-Men and boost the box office. :lol

I imagine Christian Bale, Robert Downey, Jr., and others felt the same way when cast. These guys aren't comic nerds for the most part, and probably look down on them, despite the fact that they capitalize on their support. Personally, I don't care what these guys think or say, so long as they do a good job in the movie, and preferably capture the essence of the stories and characters. It does seem that that is less likely when these guys don't give a **** about the source material, but they're following a script and director who will really dictate that stuff anyway.

Who would've thought that the films from a few years ago could have a better cast than these new ones? :lol

Torch, Mr. Fantastic and Doom were all cast better than what we're getting in this film, IMO. The only improvement is Mara over Alba.

Agreed, what's worse than actors that don't care, a director that doesn't care...

I thought they were a good cast back then, just horrible writing

Kara - you make a good point. As long as the production itself is solid, loose comments made by snippy Gen-Y bother (props to nam for that doozie :lol) actors aren't as important as we sometimes make out.

The thing is however, that while Teller saying that in a certain tonal context would've been fine - & then perhaps adding something like 'I'll just do my best, & let's see what happens'.. he didn't. He sounded dismissive & indifferent about it - again, the guy's on TV representing the film for those few moments he's there.

As you said, some things are better left unsaid, if the only thing they have to say is something obnoxious.
