huh? isn't that 7lbs difference? unless you're scaling in kilo, which equal to about 2lbs each I think. judging from Las Vegas, NV, I am sure ur talking about lbs.

No, I was about 235 last year, when they pegged me as obese.

I was 242 last Sunday. Today I am 230.5 and :D

Yeah obesity is on the rise worldwide but nothing comes close to the problems you guys have. When we come visiting everyone's shocked at a) How many fast food joints there is b) the cheap cost of meals and c) The super sized portions. It's scary.

That doesn't mean anything really. When I go to a regular restaurant, I usually make two meals out of mine. Most people take something home with them. And in fast food resturants, you don't have to get the biggest size, actually from what I've seen, most don't.

Actually, the UK isn't that far off from us when you look it up.

I try really hard not to judge someone unless I've walked in their shoes. That fat person you're making fun of just might be trying to better themselves only you don't see it. And there are people who honestly have trouble losing weight. That's another way genes and age can play against you.

My sister in law was overweight after she had her kids until she reached 50 then she lost weight by practically starving herself. She says that's the only way she can stay thin. She says she has to deal with being hungry all the time and going to bed with a gnawing in her stomach. She has the "it's better to look good than to feel good" attitude now.

I don't really have any food addictions either. I can take or leave chocolate. I love wine and cheese but I don't actually need to have it every day. I just realized I've been up for 1.5 hours and I haven't even eaten breakfast yet. I normally don't wait more than 90 min to eat...

Anyways, your body is what you make of it. If you have a medical condition that helps you gain some lb's, find out how to fight it as best as you can, and do it. Even if you cannot fix it 100%, there has to be things that can be done. Turn that fat into muscle!! :p

I know that when we have kids we do not want them to know about people who are 'fat' or 'skinny' we want them to learn about nutrition and staying active. And it all starts with us.

I can go most of the day without eating. Actually if I eat one big meal around 3-4 o'clock, I'm good for the day. I know that's not good for you though.

It's horrible. Body begins to kick in survival mode and stores everything you put in as fat vs. cycling it as energy.

You can mess up your metabolism by doing that.

Yup, starving yourself isn't the way to go. There is a great book on the subject matter called Ultrametabolism that goes into all of that in a very scientific way. You have to learn the correct foods to eat and how much is actually a "serving". I agree with what you said earlier about staying out of the center isles of the grocery store too.

When I was young I was thin, and i hated fat people.
Now I am fat, so I hate myself.

I know it's not good for you. I just don't like to eat when I'm not hungry at all.
