Re: The Walking Dead (Spinoff) Series

I'd like a view of various parts of the world each season. One set in Mexico City maybe, the next in some rural area in Japan, follow that with the forests in Germany maybe in one of the old castles there. Canada, obviously anywhere. But I'd rather get a global sense of the doom with some memorable characters along the way. Maybe have some cross the ocean for some silly reason and crossover onto the original series. They could do some really interesting things that way.

Re: The Walking Dead (Spinoff) Series

Terminus isn't in the comics, nobody except those looking up show spoilers would know what it is.

But I agree, having no idea where the show could be going makes is very exciting.

Seems odd that something that big wouldn't be in the comics. Since so many knew what it was all about, I just figured it was in the comic. Guess the other thread is rubbing off on them then.

I just hope it's on during the summer and they don't run them back to back or close together.

reminds me of world war Z. AMC.....budget would probably never allow it, but that would be cool

Re: The Walking Dead (Spinoff) Series

Still haven't seen WWZ, do they globe hop in it?
I mean, they could easily shoot it all in California backlots, or Canada or anywhere cheaper and make it look like different parts of the world.
I'm sure it's going to be more just like this series but with different people. Which makes me feel like I am not going to want to care about it. I don't want 2 of the same thing, unless it's beer or hundred dollar bills. :D

I think a lot of people are just making assumptions about Terminus based on what happens around this point in the comics, but if it is what they think it is, it was presented entirely differently in the comics. We'll find out tomorrow for sure I guess.

I too hope its during the Walking Dead's off season. I'd much rather them spread the dead throughout the year rather than have us watch them simultaneously. It would make the wait between seasons of each show that much more tolerable.

yeah they kind of do what you said, they move like the way you described sort of. I liked it a lot because of that reason.

Re: The Walking Dead (Spinoff) Series

I highly doubt the spin off will be outside of the USA. Kirkman wasn't happy about the mention of France at the CDC in season 1. For all we know the outbreak is isolated to the USA and he likes the idea of people being in the dark just how bad the situation is or isn't. So I imagine we'll get something based more on the Western United States since the current show is more Eastern. I still think Utah is the perfect place. We got just about every kind of environment for them to play with within an hour or two's drive - mountains, beach, desert, city, casinos, suburbs, etc. Plus a lot more people here prepare for long term disasters than other parts of the country. It would be kinda neat to see a group that was actually prepared for the end before it hit.

Re: The Walking Dead (Spinoff) Series

While I don't want to see a series of that, I'm not ashamed to admit it was a fun little movie. :lol

It was perfect for what it was. A one off story. It wasn't a series and because of that, I think it worked well. I'm glad they didn't try to Twilight the crap out of that thing.

I never denied my enjoyment of Warm Bodies. I Loved that movie, it was pretty funny too. But it was funny that fosing was describing it

That could make for a really good angle.

That would be pretty cool to have them on opposite rotations, my only fear is being perpetually confused if the shows are too similar. :lol

Re: The Walking Dead (Spinoff) Series

Since this isn't set till 2015, makes you wonder if they'll end the original one. If they do, I'm betting they still get story ideas from the comics for the new one.

That's like saying Robert Kirkman is going to stop loving money and his creation/story of Rick. Nope. He's already said if he could let this show run for 40 years just following Carl he would.

I was thinking about that this morning. We're wrapping up Season 4 today. Wonder how much longer they'll continue the series. While i still think there's plenty of stories left to tell, I don't see AMC making 10+ seasons of Rick's story in TWD.

Re: The Walking Dead (Spinoff) Series

I got an Idea for a name. The Sitting Dead. Huh. Catchy isnt it.

I think as long as it stays popular they will be happy to make 10+ seasons. I mean Grey's Anatomy has been around for 10 years now I and I don't think that is anywhere near as popular as Walking Dead is right now. I never hear people talk about Grey's but hear people discuss Walking Dead all the time. Plus there is tons of merch out for TWD. I just don't see AMC wanting to put down a cash cow unless it stops making money. I mean they wouldn't be doing a spin off if they didn't have a lot of faith in the franchise as a whole. Chances are the spin off will end before the 'original' show will. That's what happened to all the CSIs at least.

Re: The Walking Dead (Spinoff) Series

Yeah, I could see a lot of OS loyalists turning their back on a spinoff if it means the original gets axed. Agreed on the money thing. No way they'd cut that money train off for any reason any time soon. Still lots of story to tell anyway.

Re: The Walking Dead (Spinoff) Series

We know there is a season 5 of Walking Dead. And I don't see them cutting it off in the next several years, so I would think we'd get at least 8 seasons out of the original show before things start getting iffy.

Re: The Walking Dead (Spinoff) Series

I also think that the original series will continue on for at least a couple more years. Even if it "catches up" to the comic, they can go in a new and different directions. I would prefer this anyway. I admit that I am NOT looking forward to Negan and the "All out War" storyline. How boring were some of those issues???

With this spinoff series, the sky is the limit for what they can do and where they can go. I am looking forward to it. I kind of view it like the CSI series with zombies. They all take place in different cities and are separate from one another.

I don't want to see TWD become what the main CSI is now. :nono I'd rather them Lizzie the show before that happens. :lol
