I liked the first one, but the second wasn't so good. I think I reboot will be good, but I don't think it needs to be darker. Like Mike said, just because TDK was dark and a big success we don't need every comic book movie to be dark. Honestly the lightheartedness is partially what makes me like Iron Man more than TDK.

Glad to hear it. I didn't absolutely hate the FF movies or anything, but Dr. Doom almost ruined them. He sounded like such a little weiner... Just a terrible portrayal, overall.

Doom was bad enough in the first, more a colossal pain in the ass than a real threat. But in the second, when they took away his scarring. That was unforgiveable.

Yeah, my biggest beef with the two films was Doom. I sorta hope they do a CG Thing, too.

As far as it being darker, I've noticed out of all the studios doing Marvel stuff, Fox seems to be the furthest removed from the source material in terms of costume, sequence of events, some characterization, ect. Even though I do love the four X- related films.

Marvel Studios seems to be the closest so far with their first two projects.

Sony is somewhere in the middle. While they take some liberties with the Spider-man stuff, it's still closer to the comics than Fox.

Just observations.

I'm all for an F4 reboot, but "far darker"? Come on, the F4 are not dark. Stop trying to suck all the fun out of superheroes and make everything TDK. Iron Man should be their template to follow.

Hopefully they'll throw a little more money behind it this time. The Mr. Fantastic effects were awful in both movies.

I'm kind of tired of all the comic films lately. After seeing Spidey swinging around NYC nothing really impresses me anymore. They are all just average films IMO, nothing that blows me away and makes me wanna buy the dvd as soon as it's released. Sorry, but I'm feeling jaded and unimpressed to all this comic movie hype.

I also hope they do a CG thing

Yeah, we need him TOWERING over the rest of the team. Plus the CG will give the director and writers more opportunities to really have him smash things.

I liked Ioan Grufford as Reed, though I wouldn't mind if they recast Reed with an actor a little bit older. I'm not sure of his age compared to the rest of the team, but I always saw him to be in his late 30's/early 40's when I used to read the comics. They also really need a menacing Doom. Julian McMahon was so miscast (not to mention Jessica Alba) and the character was written so poorly.

I don't want the new FF film to be TDK dark, but I'd like to see it take itself seriously without the ridiculous family slapstick. If they can capture the Iron Man/new Hulk vibe, I'll be happy with it.

Mike... Who's rack is this?

I actually love the cast of the FF movies...except Doom.

Not sure how much better this reboot will be....
