I am only glad Holland won just so that they kick out Argentina next.

final game will probably Germany Holland

These no-hope nations are pushing well above their limits here and it was good to see the Dutch go through see we can see the Dutch face the Argies.

Now let the big boys battle it out.

Yep, they certainly were the suprise package.

It just shows what can happen when a group of players leave all their egos and rivalries from their clubs behind and unite for the good of the national side.

Holland are probably gonna be knackered for the semi although I think Robben got stronger as the game went on, it's just a shame his diving often overshadows his talent.

Hope there not knackered because I really want them to knock the Argentineans out.

With us both being English at-least we knew not to have any expectations at all coming in to this tournament supporting England. Unless there's massive cash incentives then the England players will always carry on not giving a ****. Only money seems to motivate them unfortunately but don't get me wrong I'm definitely not saying that's what FA should do :lol

Exactly
Half of the team's players plays in the norwegian league and a one of them that played today is a benchwarmer on a team that is in 13th place. And the level in the norwegian league is not exactly high.
Still,a team with players on that level manage to pull off someting this impressive, anyone can. This performance will be talked about for years.Hell...Im getting their Jersey :D

The only 2 players I knew for Costa Rica was Ruiz who really struggled at Fulham & Campbell who looks quite promising & who is actually registered to my club Arsenal but he hasn't yet played a game for them yet because he couldn't get a work permit so was loaned out until he qualified for one which he now has

Hope the rest of the team now gets noticed & hopefully go on to bigger clubs

What an effort my Costa Rica! Very happy for them. Made it so far and held onto the onslaught of the Dutch for the longest time. Too bad they lost. Love seeing the underdogs advance. :clap

Onto the semis with some classic meetings....Germany vs. Brazil and Holland vs. Argentina.

The rule-following, Hasselhoff-worshipping, stein-lifting clock-watching Germans will eat the thong-wearing, body-waxing, surgically-augmented mummy's boy Brazilians for breakfast. Go Deutschland :woo

Just like Howard prevented the US from losing 16-1, Costa Rica's goalie brought the game to penalty kicks had he not saved those 6 to 7 shots on goal.

Poor Costa Rica, only 1 shot on goal

its gonna be the germans and the dutch for the finals.
was hoping they would fight it out in SA last time, but they sure can do it in brazil.haha

Moral of this World Cup as usual again is... boys go for the win. Try to win by scoring goals. If you try to play for a stalemate destiny will level you. First Chile, Mexico, now Costa Rica. All got what they deserved.

I'd quite like Holland to do to Argentina what they did to Spain, but any kind of win will do.

The only expectations I have of England is the usual shambles although this time round they outdid themselves by not even getting to a point where they could lose on penalties. I think the millionaires from the Premier League should all be ditched and the squad should be made up of players from the lower divisions as they'd at least have some hunger that didn't involve Rooney and the nearest pie shop :lol

I'd also hire a manager with some charisma as it can't be very inspiring seeing Woy sat on the bench with a face like his dog has just been run over. 'Arry Redknapp is the only realistic English option.

Failing that the FA should monitor Miguel Herrera's situation and if he ever leaves the Mexico job they should pounce. A guy like that clearly inspires his players and even if the results didn't change much he'd still provide a lot of entertainment.
