I think I've mentioned it before in one of the football threads that many years ago when I used to train in Italy with a lot of the soccer schools, it was actually advised as part of the coaching to go down easily if need be in order gain a free kick in a dangerous area or indeed inside the box for a penalty kick... I have been guilty of this act of deception once or twice myself but in all fairness, they were good dives and I did recieve a minimal amount of contact

I remember the look on his face after he conceded the own goal...

I just checked some documentaries on the subject on Youtube... really really scary stuff. I was shocked to know that the cartels were paying for the stadiums in medellin and they were paying the players' salaries. you see the games and you see the players, but you just cannot ever imagine what is going on their own countries. wow
