Well, if i'm being honest too nor do I ;) although I was surprised to see them play the best part of 120 minutes against Spain in the Semis at last years Confederation Cup (only to be beaten by them on Penalties) :( and then reaching the final of Euro 2012 was also an overachievement in itself. Italy are still going through a transitional period at present with a lot of new young players mixed in with one or two old heads such as Pirlo, Cassano and De Rossi so not too much is expected from them however, this is Italy, and they are always there or there abouts come the knock out stages so anything up to the quarters would be pretty realistic. We've got a pretty tough group so it will be very difficult to qualify...if I go back to the last World Cup in South Africa where Italys group consisted of Paraguay, Slovenia and New Zealand...and we didn't even make it out of that group! :horror :lol

Still, I can gladly say that I've witnessed my country win the World Cup twice in my lifetime (1982 & 2006) so its all good. We are still the only European team to have won the most World Cups (4) only one behind Brazil who have won it a record 5 times in total. Hence why I don't want them to win, nor do I want Germany to win (as they will be another European team to reach 4 World Cups aswell, nor do I want Spain to win (as they have won the last 3 successive tournaments and its getting boring now!) so that leaves countries such as Argentina, Holland, France and Belgium to win it :yess:

As for England...well its the same every tournament isn't it...everyone hypes it up that they gonna win it, the open top bus parade is already booked, Rooney is going to be the World Cups top scorer (despite never scoring a World Cup goal to date!) :slap they are another team in transition with most of their old guard now retired such as Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, Bobby Charlton and Geoff Hirst :lol :lol how far can they go? Who knows but my personal World Cup final will be played on the 14th June against England and I'm praying we can win it!!

Yeah Italy I feel will be a match for anyone but will come up short at this World Cup. I think maybe Quarter's or Semi's at best but IO would not be shocked if they did make it to the Finals either.

riot police ready. :lecture

:lol

:lol

Never count the Italians out buddy.

I think Brazil will be very hard to beat and win.... but if anyone going to beat them its going to be Argentina Holland or Italy

And NEVER count out the Greeks or Socceroos :lol

For me Argentina, the Spanish, the Germans and maybe the Dutch will be the only real teams that will have a chance at this along with Brazil.

A lot of people I know fancy Belgium to cause some shockwaves but I see them do well at the Euros in 2016 but they may go far here in Brazil as well.

Also remember no European country has ever won the World Cup in South America so for that reason my money is on Argentina.

I hate to say it cos I hope Spain go out in the group stage but some say they have a better all round squad than in 2010 when they won it! :thud:

You basically want them to do a France (World Cup 2002) and get knocked out in the Group Stage. :rotfl

I don't want Spain to win it because I like to see different teams win it and not the same teams over and over again although they have a real good chance.

Are you kidding me! Oh yea! I am ready!
Realistic winner are Holland, Argentina, Germany - and Brazil

:exactly: all teams go through phases of dominating...Spain have been one of the best national teams ever in my opinion (that's coming from an Italian) :lol but now it's time someone else stepped up to the mark. It won't be Germany, it won't be Italy...I personally don't think it will be Brazil...my bet this year goes to Argentina...I think it's about time Messi shows us his incredible ability but on the national stage

Spain could still dominate to 2016 I feel.

I also think that Messi will dominate this tournament and he should. The pressure on Neymar must be HUGE. Failing that Golden Boy Rooney will be the star of the tournament. :slap :lol

:lol can you believe after all the hype that follows Rooney everywhere he goes and the way his name alone guarantees a first team place that he hasn't even scored a World Cup goal?! WTF?! I've never rated him as a world class player and never will...you can't compare him to Messi or Ronaldo.

Yea, as much as I don't want to believe it, Spain are looking strong again on paper...their squad is full of talent covering each position including the reserves...we can only hope that something doesn't quite workout for them.

Haven't seen too much of Neymar since he joined Barca...definately one of the most skillful players in the world...

I rate Rooney as a great Premiership player but World Class he isn't.

Yep the Spanish are rich with talent and like I say the Belgium lads may give them a run for their money at the 2016 European Championships.

Neymar had a good first half to the season and a rotten second one. Lost his form badly and then there was the scandal with his transfer fee and where the money went? I feel that he may have a non-eventful tournament and that would be bad for Brazil.
