Portugal caught the US flat footed on a counter. Damn. I knew when Chris Wondolowski took that ball down his left wing with about two minutes left in stoppage that he should have attacked the Portugal goal one last time instead of holding up. You never know. Could have forced a corner and ate up more time or resulted in a third goal. Gonna be harder than hell to get a point against Germany but you never know.

****ing gutted for the USA. Watched the match in the pub and I said to my brother with less than a minute to go in injury time ''they've got it won, no way Portugal are getting a goal now''. Approximately 5 seconds later. Un****ingbelievable. This game can be so damn cruel. An outright defeat would have been less painful.

Gutted in terms of they deserved the win, but in terms of the group it'll add some much desired tension to the remaining games. Dead rubbers are largely something to cringe at. Costa Rica vs England... who wants to endure that? I'll still enjoy Australia v Spain though... will Spain salvage a shred of dignity at the expense of the lowest-ranked team in the tournament, or will they completely and utterly f&*k up their entire finals campaign with three consecutive embarrassments. The fact that this question is even being asked is humiliating enough.
