That ball was whizzing by his head like a bullet, no way that's on Howard. It's on the same ****ty defender who mucked up a simple clear out that led to Portugal's first goal.
Gutted in terms of they deserved the win, but in terms of the group it'll add some much desired tension to the remaining games. Dead rubbers are largely something to cringe at. Costa Rica vs England... who wants to endure that? I'll still enjoy Australia v Spain though... will Spain salvage a shred of dignity at the expense of the lowest-ranked team in the tournament, or will they completely and utterly f&*k up their entire finals campaign with three consecutive embarrassments. The fact that this question is even being asked is humiliating enough.
i dont know, i guess im just too furious to think. I wanted to party
I guess but I just really would have liked to see the US get qualified outright and Portugal go out. I hate Ronaldo that much. Also I truly would like the US team to draw the attention to this sport that it deserves in that country. This was a valiant effort from them, but people rarely remember the 'almosts'.

Sadly I doubt that the US winning the whole thing would raise sustained interest in a country where soccer is still considered in a lot of parts a 'girls sport'. I like the way the US plays its games, they're a classy bunch of gentlemen. I think they'll get through with the lederhosen-clad, World-War starting, sauerkraut-munching Mercedes makers. I'd be happy with any of the USA, Germans or Ghanains going through, but that's got nothing to do with Ronaldo and everything to do with the fact that I despise the Latin game.
That ball was headed from near point-blank range at speed. He would've had a better chance of stopping a spot-kick than that header. Be fair in your indignation
Yeah its on Bradley to start, he trys to play a ball under pressure instead of blasting it out of touch. You know know there is little time and even just clearing a ball could end the game. Then its on the D, there was plenty of people back but just misplayed it, they gave Ronaldo to much room and then three guys let the only guy who could play that cross get the cross pretty much uncontested.so I'm reading it was all Bradley's fault? worst player of the team?
Your descriptions for the various footballing nations have been high points of this thread. If we didn't you know you better.....

I think it's the US' overall excessive pride about what is the world's more popular sport. I mean, they call it soccer for starters... Considering US football should be called passball or something like that.
Also, the NBA considers their champion a World Champion, Baseball, World Series?
It doesn't get more arrogant than that...
