Yep, i don't know why they make a full seamless body for Tifa, because elbows and knees joints are hidden.I wish they went the hybrid route like Cloud where they included both seamless arms and jointed, at least for the elbows.
Yes that was a point I thought of as well. Tifa has her elbows and knee joints hidden already by her clothing so I don't really get the point of having it seamless for those areas. Having it jointed, articulated and hidden is the best of both worlds. Shame they went full seamless for her.Yep, i don't know why they make a full seamless body for Tifa, because elbows and knees joints are hidden.
The prototype of Tifa's body is beautiful, and the proportions are perfect but we will be forced to make a museum pose.
For Tifa it's annoying.
Yes! I meant low production numbers, not low production quality!I think you misunderstood, they had mentioned low production, not low quality.
Welcome to 1/6 seamless lol, it's my latest craze after being a PAK collector and former statue collector, 1/6 has always been my favourite scale and seamless, like you said, brought a new ballgame. You can pose them like wild for photos but just be sure to museum pose 'em afterwards. Rather be safe than sorry and come back to your Tifa months later and see metal poking out of her split elbows I think subtle bends are ok, but anything over 45° could cause dmg.Yes! Mass produced items tend to be cheaper, but when you have a limited run, you don't get the same volume discounts.
Nice to see the recent updates. Will continue to keep an eye out.
Not really sure what to say on the recent seamless-joint discussion. I really dislike seeing joints (think things like the PAK figures), so I tend to gravitate toward statues/statuette type stuff. This is a new ballgame for me. I frankly think, because of this, I'll appreciate that all the joints are hidden. But I'm also not sure how strict of a 'museum pose' will be needed, as everyone seems to have slightly different rules for that. Hopefully a bit of minor change would be ok, but I certainly don't want to break anything.
Because sex sells. This is going to get branded with the idea of "cast off" for the people who are into that kind of thing. Heck, DeltaForceChung already said a dozen or so pages back that he's going to buy multiple just to display one naked. Kinda weird to me, but I don't judge.Yep, i don't know why they make a full seamless body for Tifa, because elbows and knees joints are hidden.

I mean...I agree that a seamless body seems pointless for a character that has their elbows and knees covered anyway. You wouldn't even be able to see the joints, the design is perfect for an action figure!
If they're doing it to sell her as a cast-off figure, they should have also made Cloud fully seamless and anatomically accurate. Equality!
That may be true but I highly doubt we are going to get sultry & sexy photos of Tifa for her promotional shots, we already know how dedicated GT photographer is and how badass their photos are! I think the body is just anatomically correct because that's just how phicens are and im just assuming GT is following that trend. I can't really think why else. You make a good point though, I wonder where these fair against phicens in terms of quality, can't wait to hold one in person to compareBecause sex sells. The fact of the matter is that seamless looks better, regardless of its drawbacks. And for some people, doing dynamic poses isn't as important as having the figure as accurate as possible. For better or worse.
That being said, as I mentioned, if these are up to par or better than Phicen you can absolutely still pose them without causing tears. I've had seamless figures posed for months at a time for going on 4 years now and no tears.
That's only the torso, no? It looks like they gave Tifa "everything" on the lower body...I mean...
To put it plainly, no. Here is about as good as it gets for us westerners. Is there anywhere that I can keep up with news on GAMETOYS? Like social media etc.
Thanks for the info just curious where people actually find the updates about figures? Like new pictures? To put it plainly, no. Here is about as good as it gets for us westerners.
Is this actually from GAMETOYS? Sorry to sound like an idiot if its a customjust some project .
We wouldn't know, since they mainly use the Chinese platform weibo to communicate, or private group chats or discords. Luckily for us, we have one insider who is in China and GT boss is his friend. His name is Walter88 and he's a blessing in this thread, sharing photos and updates from what he hears from GT boss himself. Thanks for the info just curious where people actually find the updates about figures? Thanks so much!!! I am hoping to hear soon about the Death Note Gametoys figuresWe wouldn't know, since they mainly use the Chinese platform weibo to communicate, or private group chats or discords. Edit: yes that is a Genesis coat prototype by Gametoys. Walter is our insider. Don't worry, we're happy to help
Me too. I'm a little weary on where we may find updates for those, considering this is the FFVII thread. I wish there was a Gametoys thread? (Maybe there is & I haven't looked?)Thanks so much!!! I am hoping to hear soon about the Death Note Gametoys figures
I'm bored at work so I'm commenting here way too much, and I'm also not an expert but I'm more than happy to share an opinion I believe Gametoys bodies are uniquely made. I mean, I think they are designed and produced by gametoys but I could be totally wrong. I just know that since they are unlicensed, they are unable to go to TBLeague to help them craft their bodies. But there's gotta be another company in China that does these bodies, because I have one by VStoys (Honoka-chan from DoA) and her body is custom made to her features, and a very high quality body!! Also unlicensed and without help from TBL. Which gives me lots of hope. And I also have a few Jiaou Doll bodies. I hope it's not JD. Their quality is subpar and especially on the bodies that I have (don't judge me, the European style female) the shoulders are all very thin material and i fear the joint may poke throughI'm curious with that Tifa/Aerith body. Is it TBLeague? I wonder what model it is. It seems to be one of the narrow shoulder models. Or maybe it's one of the newer Jiaou Dolls. It's beautiful!
I've had Phicen/TBLeague bodies since around 2014 and most of them are still in good condition. The Phicen Shi and Demon Huntress I got back around 2015 and 2016 are still in mostly perfect condition, and I live somewhere that gets very hot majority of the time (hot to the point that door handles get warm even in-doors).
I did have an unfortunate experience with one of the TBLeague S10D (usually the standard for costume kits like Super Duck) bodies that I bought. One of the S10D bodies "melted", as in instead of firm silicone/tpe meat, it became "slushy" inside and you could deform the body just by touching it. It even leaked some kind of yellowish oil. Thankfully all my other S10Ds are still fine even now, and I bought them years ago.
For Jiaou Dolls, I only have one which I bought probably 3 or 4 years ago and so far, it's still good. It does have some "skin peeling" going on, but just tiny ones.
I hope whatever body GameToys is using for Tifa and Aerith would be the strong, good type. Also hopefully, the heads would be compatible with other bodies, just in case we experience deterioration. At least we'll be able to buy a new body if that happens.
