re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

You know it !

What's your fave ?

Sorry, had to head to IKEA. :monkey4:lol

The '88 Tullibardine I have is my favorite. I'm hoping to get the '73 sometime soon as well...hopefully this fall for my bday.

Talisker is 2nd on my list, mainly because I had a chance to tour the distillery in '09. I have a 20yr and a distillery special edition cask strength I picked up there that are both very good.

One more note...at the Scotland Homecoming in '09, Talisker had a Master Taster Class at the games where you got to taste 6 or 7 different years over the course of an hour. They would explain each scotch prior to tasting, moving you from youngest (age 0) to oldest (age 30). Darn cool experience, especially since you could easily taste the difference in years having them back to back.

How about yourself? Any favorites?

EDIT - btw, they're having another homecoming in 2014, and would highly recommend going if you can!

Nice...I had a six pack of those last week. That brewery has some other decent beers.

Got a buddy coming over for dinner soon and I've got these chilling:

20% beer... damn; that sounds rough. Did it actually taste like beer?

On your birthday, right? Barley Wine?

I'm cracking open a bottle of Zin tonight... Might have two glasses max. :lol

Zin? And you worried about 10%? I've had some Zinfandels approaching 14%. Hot stuff....too strong for a wine..I prefer Pinots.

You get a lot of Dogfish I've never seen before.

That's nothing..their 120 minute is 20 percent..had 2 of those last October in rehoboth. Slept like a baby. :monkey1

Half a bottle of that would probably knock me out.

I prefer Pinot too... Still, I have a couple bottles of Zin so I'll pop one open after the gym and mowing lawns. Around 5 hours from now. :(

^^ I'll check that out. :duff

Hit the store again today and got the beer I posted earlier along with two six-packs of some other beer and two four-packs of singles. Very successful beer run this trip! :yess:

Our beer buyer at our whole foods is a total beer geek and seeks out all the limited beers he can get his hands on. He keeps 18 kegs at the store filled with some really good stuff. Here's his Facebook page..it makes for a good read.

Looks like a cool job. Maybe I should switch careers. How much do you suppose he makes? Doesn't matter; he's got a facebook page, people like him and it looks like he has way more fun with his work than I do.

Whole foods pays well and has good benefits... I bet he's making 30k a year plus bonuses and free beer.

Or I could be completely wrong. I've never asked how much he makes. They are all good guys there..my wife and I baked them all Christmas cookies this past December.they hook us with free beer and food all the time.
