Hey Ben, is it possible for your parents to get a divorce? I think ultimately they will both be happier without each other. I realize finances will play into it, but at this point they are making each other and everyone else around them miserable.

Sorry you've ended up in the middle of it all. I guess I was lucky my parents got divorced when I was very young and I don't really even remember my father. I grew up never seeing or knowing him or even knowing what happened to cause the split.

It sucks. I know at 28 it shouldn't have such an effect on me, but my mom and I are very close so it's really painful.

I've suggested that she should divorce him, but the choice is ultimately up to her. It 's very frustrating.

This sucks. Did he admit that it was still going on til last week? I only ask because MAYBE she's making it up, in retaliation for you going to her house with the letters.

He was lying again. When my mom called her out on what she said on the phone, he admitted that it was true and that he was still sending her last week.

Aw crap. Sorry, man. My cousin had a similar problem. Her husband was cheating on her with his teaching assistant for a few years. They have a 10-year old daughter. He finally just told her about the affair, and they are now separated, and planning their divorce. It sucks that there are cheating bastards like that. I know it's your Dad, which makes it even harder to bare...
