re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I have a strange story to tell you guys. This is one of the weirdest things that's ever happened to me on the internet.

As some of you may know, I'm a big Godzilla fan. Maybe about a year and a half ago, I joined a collectors group on facebook for a specific line of Godzilla toys that I collect. We share our pics, speculate on new releases and post announcements. Stuff like that.

Yesterday this new guy joined the group. He said he only collects the X-Plus Godzilla line and that he has quite a collection. Other members ask him to post pictures of his collection and he says he'll get his camera an snap a few shots. He then posted a new thread with a picture that I took of my collection from about a year ago. People were commenting on how great his collection was and he just went along with it, thanking them for their compliments and asking what other figures he should get. Pretty bizarre, eh?

I started a new thread calling him out on it. The other members were pretty disgusted in what the guy did, but the administrator-type-person said that no harm was done and I should take it as a compliment. Then the jerk who stole my picture blocked me, so I can't even tell if he posts any more of my pictures as his. Overall, I'm pretty annoyed.

Ben, that's a crazy story. I can't believe some guy would do that. Must be very lonely and looking for attention to do something like that.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Ben - Yeah, that's ridonkulous. Why can't they do anything, especially since he stole your photo THEN blocked you?

Fellow C2E2-goers:
Adam West now shows as canceled. :gah::gah::gah::mad:

Sux doesn't it?!?
I wanted to get him to sign my Family Guy poster. Oh well.

That is strange. Just recently a fellow freak pointed out someone used my Barad-dur pics for their eBay auction. I didn't see it but was notified by a fellow freak.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Yeah guys. It's pretty sad that somebody would take false praise on a collection that isn't his. And here I thought my life sucked. :lol

Gibby, I sent the admin guy a message voicing my concerns. If he doesn't do anything I'll probably delete all my collection photos from the group and photobucket and leave the group.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I got a message back from the group creator. He wants to give the guy another chance. I guess I'm leaving the group. That place sure aint no Flosi's Cantina, that's for sure.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

That sucks. I can't believe that wouldn't result in an immediate ban.

That's horrible. Too bad, but I understand how it ruins the group for you.
Reminds me of when a member here stole pics from my Ebay auction and posted them in his Sale thread. I called him out and he deleted his thread. I had taken a screen shot, reported him, and nobody gave a shirt.

Anyhoo, I'm drinking like a bastard tonight.

The worst part was that he didn't even apologize after he got caught. Just blocked me and kept going on his merry way.

I think once you're a confirmed a-hole, the only direction to go is "worse."

The guy who built that droid was part of the presentation at WonderCon.

Cool guy. Can't wait to get started in earnest on mine.

You could always look at it as there is someone so extremely jealous of your awesome toy collection that they aspire to be like you and will even go as far to pretend they're you. The saying holds true that "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."
