I'm just excited SW seems to be back (and by that I mean focus on story and real/practical effects). And if Mark Hamill has more screen time than Godzilla did in his movie, I'll be happy.

As many Star Wars fans have suspected, there's more to Adam Driver's Kylo Ren than meets the eye. While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, director J.J. Abrams confirmed that Ren is someone who's aware of the events of the Original Trilogy and that his aesthetic is an intentional nod to Darth Vader by Ren. Furthermore, Abrams revealed that Kylo, as a member of the Empire remnant group, The First Order, is also a member of a smaller sect inside The First Order known as The Knights of Ren. “He is a character who came to the name Kylo Ren when he joined a group called the Knights of Ren".

Eh. That was just a little bit of background info on the character. I guess it depends on your level of spoiler avoidance. It didn't spoil any significant plot points (IMO).

I'm cautiously optimistic. I've liked all of JJs movies so I think I'll be satisfied. So far I'm liking what I see.

Eh. That was just a little bit of background info on the character. I guess it depends on your level of spoiler avoidance. It didn't spoil any significant plot points (IMO).

See that's where we disagree for me:

If there is The Knights of Ren, then that means we've got our Darth replacement. Instead of Darth ____, we'll have ____ Ren. That means we'll see a whole new Sith structure which is a big deal especially since people are expecting the status quo on that side. It also gives a lot of speculation towards who Adam Driver really is and whether he is more connected to the OT than we thought. Originally the thought was that he was more of an OT Fanboy than anything else.

I usually read to much and spoil movies before I see them but I'm trying really hard not to do that with TFA.

That's all true. But like I said, it depends on what you consider spoiler and what you don't. Knowing those things about his background I don't think will affect how I view the character or his motives.

seemed obvious to me just from the photos and trailer. The rest appears to be inconsequential for now.

Of course I admit there's always a chance that that bit of information will be THE big reveal or twist in the story that everything hangs from and I'll be sorry I ever read it.
