A $245 ticket for going 7 mph over the speed limit?! I always set my cruise control to 6 or 7 over the posted limit. Were you in a construction zone or school zone? $245 is crazy!

A parking ticket is $80 in denmark. I think it's a scandinavia/europe thing where speeding/parking and other tickets/fines have to be so high.

indeed. Atleast it took me 10 years of driving to get my first ticket.

I was driving 2 months. I've lost track of how many I've had, but the last time I saw my traffic violation record, it was three pages long.

A warning might have happened with a more friendly police officer. One of my best friends was pulled over going about 55 mph over the limit in Finland when he had a provisional license, he got of with just a fine when they really should have revoked his license. Some people are lucky.

30mph over the limit here is criminal speeding, and you can be arrested on the spot.

The lowest fine they issue for speeding is actually $175, that is for speeding 1-5 mph.

I got caught doing 17 over in a 65mph zone and got a $180 ticket.

I have never ever received a warning for a speeding ticket in my life. Every single time (4-5?), I got a ticket. I guess I didn't flirt hard enough...

The general rule in Maine is that if they pull you over, they will only ticket you if they find more than one violation.
