re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I like your display, punk! I need to do a cantina and jabba's palace display like these. But I'd use the real bar pieces, not the cardboard one.

Thanks! I had extras of the cardboard displays so I opened them up. Don't think I ever had all the regular toy stuff to make the displays... if I did I sold them. I need to flesh out the Cantina display with more figures... I should've opened some figs for it but sold the carded ones right before I did this setup... D'oH!
Haha, I just noticed that I just tossed in Ewoks in Jabba's palace and that Chewy is apparently dead in there.

Makes you wonder how much we blew on modern Hasbro. :lol

:slap

At least we don't have them all over the wall like some collectors. :lol

Ummm.... :monkey3

If it wasn't for those Kenner/Hasbro figures I'd still be wasting money on sportscards and would have never reconnected with my beginnings and all the good memoriesof my past. I would never be here on this board if it wasn't for my POTF days.

Did I spend a ton of money on gas and figures? yes. Did I gain some awesome collecting moments with friends running all over the state trying to find rare figures? Yes. Did I gain new awesome friends thanks to online communities because off it? Hells yes and I'd do it all over again.

I remember me and a local friend (Ghost of QG here on the boards) would go out at midnight when new waves of ROTS figures would come out. I still have some sealed figures floating around the place. In the end wasted a lot of money on the figures but we had a darn good time out hunting them.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Which did you find sexiest? The one indent or two indent belt variant?! :lol All those variations... all worth nothing now. haha.

I was looking at her two indents, but I'm not talking about belts... :monkey3

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Yeah, I'm the same way. If I'm going to sell something, and only get $3 for it I just open it and keep it. It's nice to open a figure every once in awhile. :yess:
And the orange carded figs, I remember exactly where I first got them. I was at Target and found an unopened case of them... cracked it open and there were 2 full sets of figs. I grabbed the whole case, one set for me, one for my brother. I think I still have that cardboard case as well....

If you have the cardboard case from the very first wave, the empty box is likely worth more than the figures themselves... :dunno

I totally missed the ewok! I thought Chewie dove to the ground in order to shoot the Gamorrean Guard...

I know you are joking, but I do find it amusing that MANY of you have bought back things which you had sold in the past. Thus far, I have not re-bought ANYTHING I ever sold. I still have all of my childhood action figure collections, and I've never sold a statue or anything that I have ever truly wanted to keep. I went through a tough financial period from 2001-2003 or so, but I somehow managed to keep my entire collection. Never sold off anything. I was getting to the point where I would need to, but thankfully I got a new job (in Las Vegas) which paid very well, and I dug myself out of debt.

Picked up LOTR Lego this weekend. My son and I had a blast playing it!

I sold all my POTF figures when I started getting into Kubricks. I can't afford to buy collectibles out of pocket so I sell from what I have to buy new stuff. Been doing that for almost 10 years now. Now with 2 incomes things should be different I hope.

I actually did go search ebay for the silver anniversary figs. haha. Those would be the only things I would buy back I think.
Like you, I have never sold anything I didn't want to.

You ever get a chance to dig out any of that MASK stuff this weekend?

I think there are 4 ewoks there... one is buried under the 2 figure stands...

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Thinking about picking up the MKVII. Never had an IM figure. Worth the cash in your opinion?

I had to look up what it came with. It looks really nice but a lot of those extra armour parts will probably just stay in the box. Kinda high price wise at $250, I think. They're fun figures and if you've never had one you'll really dig it, but I think the RDJ sculpt is just okay at best, but that's my own opinion, and it looks a little light for the price. Still, that's a pretty damn good choice for an IM figure if you're only going to have one.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

i think i will take all of my hasbro stuff and melt it down so i can build a 3 story observation tower in my backyard. perched atop this tower i shall yell down to passerbys "I'M ON TOP OF THE WORLD" (arms raised above my head).....& i will look out and survey my kingdom with much satisfaction.........:lecture

that or just keeping giving that stuff away........
