I think the packages do, yet, you see things like this often, and recently on the HSN show, the guy from MR said you could clash them together.

Yeah, they just say that to cover their ***** in case some idiot breaks one and wants their money back. If they aren't supposed to be clashed together why include a sound effect for when you clash the blades together.

I know people do this all the time, but what I found interesting is that fact that they are doing a contest that involves something thay have told you not to do. Thats one hell of a marketing plan, hey buy this smash it into another one and when they break trying to win our contest buy another one.

Seeing stuff like this (MR's Force FX Combat Trials) sometimes makes me feel embarassed to be a Star Wars Fan.

Yeah, it's pretty hypocritical of a company to put a product warning advising not to do something to cover their ***** legally, then go and promote and encourage people to participate in something that could cause potential injury or harm to others. I mean, you could put out somebody's eye with one of those.

No, I'm pretty sure you are thinking of one of these:

Yes, I learned that the hard way, but the eyepatch is pretty cool and I'm learning how to not walk into walls.

Isn't it funny how money makes things more acceptable? :lol

Okay, two points:

1) Ive seen the Detroit Symphony Orchestra do the entire SW saga, and there were members of the 501st from MI & OH acting out the ROTS saber scenes as well as ANH. It was pretty cool and allowing yourself to get lost in it really helps to not feel sort of silly about it. Once you stop thinking you're a stoggy old adult, it's really fun! That said, these fan duels are MUCH cooler with a whole symphony orchestra!

2) Okay, this is really friggin funny. At SDCC '06, there were some pretty goofy looking guys dressed in some pretty sloppy SW costumes. They were like, instead of the 501st they were the 101st! They were SO bad dueling, they kept going till 2 out of the 5 of them completely broke the blades off their $100 MR sabers! THAT was some funny sheit! SO, Ill be watching for the unpracticed yahoos at CIV!

Like I said before if they are getting paid or doing it for a big event like the Detroit Symphony Orchestra thats kinda, but then if they are in the 501st they are already a lost cause.

Now the random people in cheap or maybe no costume doing this is just plain funny. Like you said at SDCC you saw so many things like that where you just laughed at them. My favorite was the group of guys who were dressed at Superman, Batman, Aquaman and another can't rember but they all were about average height but not one weighed more them maybe 120lbs and that would be soaking wet. They were just sad.
