You would bother? or wouldn't bother? - I'm guessing you wouldn't bother, based on the rest of the statement - yeah, I agree - when I speak the idea out loud - it seems like a stretch - just for a headsculpt.

That said, are you sure the headsculpt is fixed? Infinity have been quite strategic in the placement of neck coverings in the photos, so I'm guessing the headsculpts are seperate - and they're trying to hide the obvious neck seam. I also imagine that the bodies are being reused across the "range" of figures they plan - so I doubt they're producing the bodies and heads in one hit in the molding process - way to complex to do, especially when the paint apps between the head and body look to be at different levels.....but who knows, maybe I'm wrong - if you're right, then the whole project I had planned becomes even more ridiculous.
Oops typo, hard typing on phone sometimes but yeah wouldn't bother lol.

I'm not sure it is 100% fixed but it looks fixed. Maybe better photos or closer to release will know better.

Final point - I guess the guys talking about "sex dolls" are joking - I hope so, at least - if not, then consider that ANY female figure could be used / considered a "sex doll" - which is of course, absolute nonsense - from any perspective. I'm a red blooded male, I like sexy women - I'm not ashamed of that in the least - but I know what a 1/3 scale figure is, in relation to that sexual interest - to suggest taking that to a physical contact level - probably says more about the people suggesting it, then the design intent behind the figure.
I once went down that rabbit hole when the Phicen figures first came out.
Somebody started posting pics of his customised/modified Phicen figures in the OneSixthWarriors forum (don't know if it still exists). The man was creative, I'll give him that.
I also happened the check out another forum called MenWithDolls, doing research for a suitable body for a Milla Jovovich - RE Alice custom I was making (I thought the HT body was terrible). And there was also a lot of creativity there... so, if you think these can't or won't be used in ways that they were not intended to be used, you are mistaken.
And I do find the suggestion that because I (and others) point out that these dolls will be "misused", I must be that type of person, pretty offensive.

The body itself looks pretty plain like a tbleague body. No detail or skin texture.
Infinity said it would have textured skin, which can be seen in the photos.
We also haven't really seen any close-ups of the body itself, like where there should be blood vessels and such. So we'll have to wait and see until they've released the final product.

I remember the first time I discovered TBLeague/Phicen back in 2013/2014, I was amazed by how realistic it looked. The first time I bought one and touched one, I felt a bit weirded out because I've never touched silicone/tpe before. I thought they were fragile due to how soft they are, but thankfully, they're actually pretty durable if you take care of them. I was also amused by how anatomically correct they are hahah! It's like how I always envisioned toys would become when I was a kid, realistic and seamless. I remember when TBLeague actually included a detachable ding dong for their male bodies, I wonder if they still do that.

SGD Tifa's awesome. I love the skin details she has, just like what a real human being has! The little veins on her hands, the different shades of her skin, the fun moveable eyes, all the small subtle things you'd only notice if you look close enough is what makes me love these types of toys. The only downside I've noticed so far on my SGD Tifa is that her skeleton frame's tightness is starting to loosen up, so she can't really hold kicking or punching poses that long anymore. I sure hope they fix this with SGD 2B, and that the Infinity Studio Mia won't suffer from this joint loosening issue.

I think another challenge for 1/3 scale toys like this is that it's hard to find custom clothes for them, as well as actual stands that can hold them in jumping or flying poses. I tried looking at those 1/3 scale Ball Jointed Doll clothes for SGD Tifa, but the common BJD 1/3 scale clothes are still smaller than the 1/3 scale SGD Tifa's proportions.

I was wondering maybe 1/3 scale toys could use the similar detachable feet style that TBLeague has, but then again it would defeat the purpose of creating a "realistic" and seamless looking person, and I imagine the costs of making even just one version of a 1/3 scale toy is much higher than a 1/6 scale or smaller one, so it might be impractical unless that's the design to initially go for. Still, it would be nice if these 1/3 scale toys could stand on their own without the use of stands, while still retaining their seamless look, for maximum posability.

3:57.
You can see the head is separated from the body.
Ah you're right. I noticed it looked detachable in some photos, but I just couldn't see a seam anywhere. They've done a very good job at making it look seamless, thats for sure.
There might be hope in swapping out the sculpts after all then. So long as the skin tones match up between the different characters.

I'm not trying to offend anyone - my point is, that ANYTHING can be used against it's design intent - ANYTHING. People are creative, and will turn a Vacuum Cleaner to "alternative uses" if left to their own devices - but nobody looks at a Vacuum Cleaner and thinks - "I bet someone is buying that for the suction...LOL" - if they did, you would probably wonder at their train of thinking....am I right?

The way some people are looking at these figures - and equating them to "sex dolls" makes no real sense. It's not like we haven't seen 1/3 scale female figures before - it's not like we haven't seen 1/3 scale female silicone figures before, and it certainly isn't like we haven't seen articulated female figures before....so why now with the heavy focus on "alternative uses"? - I could understand the conversation turning that way for the 1:1 figures that seems to be appearing on certain Asian shops, and at 1:1 everyone can see the direct correlation to Sex Dolls - but 1/3 scale?!?

So that's why I said - I hope people are joking - and I assume that people are simply trying to find "fault" with the figures, because the figure concept doesn't float their boat. Some people just want to see the things they enjoy / appreciate being made - and when something comes up that falls outside of that focus area - they pick away at it, never considering that - maybe the product simply wasn't aimed at them. I have an interest in Military themed Action Figures - DamToys, Solider Story, Easy and Simple - so I know that there probably isn't much for me in the Hot Toys range of products - rather than posting nonsense on every Hot Toys release - I simply accept that Hot Toys isn't catering to my needs and move on. Do I have an opinion on Hot Toys? Sure - why not - do I think that Hot Toys customers and fans need to hear that opinion - I guess not.

I see, I think you misunderstood the intent of my original post. I did not mean to equate these figures with sex dolls, or imply that all people who bought them would use them as such. I was just commenting on the fact that realistic dolls at such a large scale are prime material for such "alternative" uses.
All good. :duff

And BTW, I find them pretty amazing, although I find such large figures very unwieldy. The largest figure I've owned was the NECA 1/4 scale Alien, and while I loved the thing, it was just too cumbersome. There's a point where I feel these large scale figures become too heavy to be left in any dynamic poses, which kinda goes against the whole point of being posable.

Unfortunately it's no joke.
I'm not talking about the Infinity Studio figures but not so long ago a different manufacturer offered a 1/3 scale female figure of a video game character with the "sex doll option". No kidding. The buyers were able to choose whether they wanted that option for their figure or not. Fully usable. :yuck
And once you get those images in your head... Enjoy the ride!
