I think the overall concept is great - people keep asking "who is it for" - it's for anyone who is interested in such characters. I mean, who is Batman for, or Superman, or Spiderman - it just depends on what you want to stare at in your display cabinet. Obviously, if the figure doesn't make sense to you, then you are not the target audience - nobody asks what is My Little Pony for, if it doesn't appeal - most assume it's for someone else....
My big concern is about the execution. I've seen so many of these seamless figures (albeit at 1/6 scale) where they recommend not to leave the figure in an "extreme" pose for very long - the question I always have, is what is classified as "extreme" - it seems they are suggesting that in storage - they should be returned to their neutral pose - basically straight up and down, as they arrive in the box - which is (maybe) fine for an 1/6 action figure - maybe....but for a 1/3 scale display piece - no way!
I'm also still unsure why they had to use a seamless body on the two fully loaded soilders - you can't see a shred of skin - so that's genuinely a feature that is redundant - and I don't expect most will be dressing or undressing these figures - to the point that seeing joints (like on a standard 1/6 or a BJD) would matter in the slightest.
Final point - I guess the guys talking about "sex dolls" are joking - I hope so, at least - if not, then consider that ANY female figure could be used / considered a "sex doll" - which is of course, absolute nonsense - from any perspective. I'm a red blooded male, I like sexy women - I'm not ashamed of that in the least - but I know what a 1/3 scale figure is, in relation to that sexual interest - to suggest taking that to a physical contact level - probably says more about the people suggesting it, then the design intent behind the figure.
In the end, Infinity Studio is doing something different - call it cheesy, call it sex baiting, call it what you want - but we have a company producing "high end, realistic" figures that are not tied to an I.P. - and they are giving themselves room to be creative according to their own direction - I think that is a step in the right direction, and I hope more of these companies follow suit - especially JND, Queen and Blitzway. Sexy sells, and I see no reason why they (the companies) should ignore that - could the pieces be more edgy - sure they could - but that needs time - and in the beginning, these companies have to know there is a market for anything not related to movie, video game, TV, or comic I.P's - I hope this is the start of a new direction for large scale figures / statues / dolls / whatever.....
