Re: Freaktacular 2016
Digital codes have been sent out to the winners! Thanks for playing!
On The Walking Dead front, that was one of my favourite episodes yet. So very brutal, and so very emotional, but they handled it SO well. I had a feeling it'd all be done with flashbacks after the cliffhanger last year, and while I thought they killed the tension by making it a cliffhanger, they REALLY nailed it in the premiere and knocked it out of the park.
They didn't hold back, which was needed. Another thing I feared was things happening offscreen with splatter hitting faces and such, but it was VISCERAL and unforgiving in its delivery and I loved it for it. Actually seeing the bat hit the target made it mean that much more, and mad it that much sadder to witness. It drove home how dangerous Negan is, and everything was just perfect.
I read the comics, so this all happened...oh man, years ago, issue #100 in the comics, but everything was done so well that it was still shocking, still hard to watch, and it really does resonate with you. It was like, 40 minutes after the show, and it all just flooded in and floored me again -- especially the dinner table. I mean, bravo to them for that episode...that was some top notch TV.
