Re: Freaktacular 2016

I think having a Delorean would be excellent, but I never picked up the first one. I'll have to consider the new one when it goes up for preorder.

I'm curious what the price will be compared to the original...

Re: Freaktacular 2016

i'm curious if it will ever go up for PO. Isnt this the 3rd year they have shown it?

I know... which is why I haven't sold off my BTTF1 Delorean. Not sure this one will ever come to be. Much like the '66 Batmobile.

Re: Freaktacular 2016

I'm still mad they haven't released the '66 Batmobile. I would have bought the West and Ward figures anyway, but I was really planning on displaying them with the car.

Re: Freaktacular 2016

That would look awesome together and yeah, don't anyone go selling off the first issue DeLoreans just yet.

Re: Freaktacular 2016

Thanks all! Yeah, it's all very awesome!!

So now that SDCC has come and gone, anything on anyone's radar as a must own? Hot Toys really killed it this year for me. I'm trying to keep most things to a single representation for that character in my collection, aside from Star Wars, where I'm hoping for one from each film. That said, the Endor Luke and Leia -- while looking really good -- didn't do enough for me to spend that much on them. But Anakin looks fantastic, and opens the door for a RotS Obi-Wan, which will be amazing if they do it. I'd love a Padme also, and just have the trio, but I could see them stopping at the pair. Well, a possible Windu wouldn't be surprising.

Justice League really looks amazing on the HT front. In the end, though, I'm fine with mixing bases and focus on the best sculpts, so I'm not sure if I'll end up with an entire JL team. I think this'll be my Superman figure though, as I love how the brighter blue pops on the new figure. I also really like the Flash's outfit, and am still waiting for the right Wonder Woman sculpt (they nailed it with the training outfit figure, but I'd like an iconic outfit for the one I get) and Batman I'd like to get with an Affleck headsculpt (which has to be inevitable) so it's entirely possible that Supes will be my only JL figure.

I'm eager to see their full reveal of the Wolf Predator too, as he's the man. So needless to say, FAR too much on deck for Hot Toys! :lol I'll have to pick and choose at times...still waiting for a Baze from Rogue One to be revealed. :impatient:

On the statue front, there are some really nice ones, but I'm not sure if I'll be in for statues anymore. The Alien Queen looks gorgeous; but she'll definitely be incredibly pricey, and even more so with the exchange, customs, shipping, etc...spending $500+ more than those in the States gets nutty after a while! :lol I also really, really, REALLY love the Dog Alien from Prime 1 that was revealed at Wondercon...but again, I think I'm out just from finances on that front. Super tempting though!

Not Sideshow, but I really want that Pop Culture Shock Green Ranger Statue. It is lovely.

Same. I bought both the 66' figures because I wanted the car, and it would look silly without the figs... now I'm stuck with 2 figs I don't want or need. :slap I'll eventually sell them. I haven't even opened them.

Come on more points... need to hit $100 so I can save big on Gamera or Negan... trying to sell a rare game off to pay for the VTS Lollipop Chainsaw figure right now.

So not really horror related but I had the chance to meet animator John Pomeroy today. Really great guy to talk with and he seemed to genuinely enjoy meeting with fans. I got him to sign some Tom and Jerry storyboards and a Mrs. Brisby promotional cel that he worked on. Since he was one of the animators for Elliot on Pete's Dragon I asked and he was nice enough to sketch out an Elliot for me right there.
It was an extremely gratifying experience.

That's awesome! I love the Pete's Dragon sketch. :rock I would almost classify NIMH as horror because I remember watching it as a kid and it scaring the **** out of me in certain moments. The owl and the creepy old rat with glowing eyes were probably not something a 7-year old should have been watching. :lol

John had a great story for the owl. He said it was his favorite character to draw in the movie because of the voice actor for the character, John Carradine, who was about 70 when they drew the film. He said Mr. Carradine was total old school and showed up to record dressed in his suit. Because he was so old, he had a distinct limp in his walk, and of course his voice was so great for the role. Those things really inspired John Pomeroy in his animation of the owl, and he said he loved how it translated on screen. In fact he drew the owl for a gentleman in line ahead of me, and it was just spectacular looking.
