Disney has their "Vault" which theoretically keeps all releases limited. The early limited release VHS sell for lots of money, the rest are at Goodwill for $1 a piece. That was my point about buying the current LE releases. They hold their value more than standard releases, so I buy them.

There is actually a thread here that is just for talking about Blu-Ray / DVD collecting. I've popped in a few times and they can get pretty serious about it.
I should go in there. I own about 5000 movies on physical media (not counting digital, where I have over 2500 movies, but some are dupes of physical media)...

I sold my Disney VHS tapes a long time ago. The only one I remember getting several hundred dollars for was the Little Mermaid that had the ***** on the cover. :lol

There's some seriously odd things going on on ebay with Disney tapes. Like one's selling for $50,000 that you can also buy for $10 currently? :dunno

I know I have a sealed VHS of Snow White that I've seen listed for thousands on eBay. But I can't seem to find it...

I've seen that with a couple of other items on eBay before. Something selling for WAY more than other identical items. And I don't mean just listed for higher. I mean sold for much higher. I actually wondered if it wasn't something else going on with listings like that. Something illegal.

A while back, there were articles circulating about how disney tapes with a certain sticker are worth thousands of dollars. People started putting them on ebay, and perpetuating the myth. Most of those tapes are worthless, but internet urban myth has perpetuated the rumors. That is why some on ebay are for 10 grand, and others are for $4. People are trying to cash in on peoples gulliblity.

Hello Gents...

Been an insane summer with work. Now I hope to slow down some. But I am probably going in for neck surgery soon. Been putting it off for 6 years. I think time has finally caught up to me.

On the collecting front, I have succumb to Pops! But it's not just me as the wife and step daughter have done the same.

Looking forward to Freaktacular 2017

Whoa...I think I see a GHOST! :panic: :lol

Welcome back, LeMelnik, long time no see! :duff :wave

I think it depends on the year released or the series or something. Or depending on the edition released or something..

Some tapes are worth 10 bucks but others are worth 500- 1000 bucks,
Even the packaging can change the pricing.

I bet I can cheer him up! I'll give him a balloon.

I buy a lot of steelbooks. I don't need them by all means, but if it's cool I will go out of my way for it. I skip a ton though.

Glad to be back. I have a feeling I am going to have lots of time on my hands as I am seeing a neck surgeon tomorrow. My neck is finally giving out and it appears that surgery is going to be a necessity.

That sucks about the beck issues. I hope if you have to have surgery it goes well and helps you out.

I'm actually ready for it now. It's a pain in the ass to maintain a suitable size around my neck muscularly. I want to get back down to the 190's but with my neck, I am most comfortable around 215lbs. Now that the discs (plural) have degenerated to the point where it doesn't matter how much I work out my shoulders and neck, it's time to just get the dual fusion done and spend some quality time in recovery and cut down the mass and tone out to a more comfortable size for me.
