Oh man! Buzzkill indeed! That blows!

Where I live, we thrive on the Halloween season.
The neighborhood comes to life every night with lights, props, fog, and on Halloween night our streets are jam packed with people, so much so that cars can no longer pass. :rock

We haven't had anyone come to our house for trick or treat in at least 10 years. Everyone around here seems to go to scheduled events not door to door anymore. I saw a church have a trunk or treat one year where the parking lot was full of cars and kids tick or treated the cars.

Saw this on FB and immediately thought of this thread.

There are a few churches around here that do that. I don't know if they're doing it for safety reasons, or if people aren't giving away candy at their houses much anymore, or if parents are just being lazy, but that seems like a ****ing boring way to trick or treat. We still get quite a few kids every year. Parents bus a ton of kids around to certain neighborhoods in the area, and a couple years ago our neighborhood became one of them.

That's the right way to do it! :lecture :duff

It made me so happy to see that Target is selling Universal Monster costumes for kids. Halloween should be about monsters, not super hero's.

Our street has no more kids....only our and a bunch of older people. We have a yearly Halloween bash....but our kids used to goto another neighborhood that just about everyone decorated their yards in a big way!

Kids are now 15 and 12 and say they do not want to trick or treat this year....

So is it ok for a 45 year old to go alone?

Yes sir!

A few of the guys here go so far as to cover the entire house to the point where you could no longer see the actual house.
One of them transformed the entire frontage of his home to look like an abandoned hospital. Another, a sinking pirate ship.
Quite a few of the homes will turn their 3-car garages into mini mazes and plant actors (family members) at various places within the maze.
This one house took it a bit further by utilizing his front yard... he stacked bales of hay and made a maze on his yard, thick with fog, leading up to his garage which was decorated to be a haunted circus. Family members inside the garage-maze were zombified clowns. Once in a while they would roam the hay maze outside. Freakin' awesome!

This is the reason why our streets get so jam packed with people.
When I find some time later today I'll post a few pics.

I'll post picks of the house this year....

We go pretty over board.....

It will probably be my only Halloween fix this year.

Start decor next week.....

Unfortunately the only people that see it are our party guests.... and one family from a few streets over that walk down my 1/4 mile dead end to see it every year.

No one comes to my house to Trick or Treat cause I live on the corner of a major street and the houses are far apart. No one walks from house to house here cause of that.

The good thing about it though, I can dig a hole for a body without worrying if my neighbors can see it happening. :stake:cut:rip

Darth Waller's avatar, second from the left top row, was the best and funniest back in the day! :rotfl
Yes it was! It's even funnier when you can see the entire body of the avatar...

He was insanely generous! I couldn't believe it then and can scarcely believe it now.

Don't worry, he's still insane...

So many great avatars there--I still can't believe Veil made them for everyone. Bobaben's is one of my favorites. I still laugh when I see that one. :lol
Which one is that? They're all friggin awesome, but yeah, some are truly hilarious! Veil was extremely creative when he made those!

I agree. The From Dusk Til Dawn show was pretty bad. I almost got through the first season but gave up on it.
You lasted longer than I did (insert "that's what she said" here)! I think I made it through 3-4 episodes, before quitting. It sucked horribly.

Did y'all enjoy the NBC series Dracula? There was only one season (a few years ago). It had a romantic, yet brutal take on vampirism. I really liked it.
No, but I would have watched it had I known Katie McGrath was in it! I likes her! She's on Supergirl now...

Meh, that's normal at my place, except there's blood on the knife, and sometimes severed body parts in a bucket nearby, if I didn't have time to clean up before going to work... Also chainsaw, handcuffs, blindfold, power drill, lighter fluid, and matches.

Yes sir!
