Hey folks-

So, here's the deal. The Mort patches I've done the past two years have been my idea, drawn by Veil, and then manufactured by my wife.

Life this year has been on and off hectic insane for me (long story, hopefully there is a light at the end of the tunnel), and the past 6 weeks have been equally insane for my wife. At this point, I'm not even going to have a prototype patch to photograph before Spook/Freak-tacular is done.

So, the question to the Freaks is this...knowing that I can't promise a ship date, and it certainly won't be for at least 2 weeks until after Halloween is over, do I go ahead and do contests anyway, or just skip it this year with my apologies, and come back stronger next year?

To be honest, I'm not even sure how often I'll be able to be in chat or checking in here, with the work insanity that is going to be going on this coming week.

The choice is yours. But honestly, although I will miss your awesome contests, I totally and completely understand if you need to skip a year. Don't over-extend yourself (and your wife) getting these done. I hope you still participate in Spook and have fun, but I won't be upset if you skip your patches this year. You go above and beyond with those, but we certainly don't expect you to do it every year for the rest of our lives...

CONTEST TIME!!! I was inspired by the "guess how many blu-rays I own" contest, so I am doing something similar... I own a LOT of movies. Many on DVD, many on blu-ray, and some on HD-DVD. I have many of the blu-rays logged on blu-ray.com:

I have NOT entered all of my collection on that website. However, I also use an app on my phone, where I scan in movies I own. I have NOT scanned in everything I own into the app yet. The app includes DVD, BD, and HD-DVD, and IF I entered in everything I own, it would probably be around 4000 titles... So that's your range. My question is, how many titles does my app say I own? I will take a screenshot now so it is locked in.

Everybody gets ONE guess. Please POST your guess here by 10pm CST tomorrow (Sunday 10/25). Do not PM me, cuz my mailbox can't handle it. CLOSEST GUESS WINS! It's OK if you go over, but in the case of a tie, the person with the lower guess will win.

Winner gets their choice of ONE of the following Blu-rays, shipped 1st class on Monday, so you should be able to watch it before Halloween, unless you are overseas. If you are outside of the US, I will cover only $3 toward shipping. You must pay the rest.

Here are the prize choices (note that 3 titles are NEW/SEALED, except for the original Friday the 13th which is used, but the disc is in perfect condition)

CONTEST IS CLOSED!!!!!!!!!! Almost everybody went over, but my rule said that was OK. Regardless, the winner was off by only 162. The correct answer was 2349. Verifying the winner now.

Yeah, too many... In fairness, I bought most once they started going on clearance... There's still some which haven't come out on BD, but most have by now...

That's a little more than half of how many I really have. That's just what I have cataloged... I have about 200 BD's to add, plus 1500 DVD's or so...
