Fred barton 1:1 Robocop bust

thanks to all who've been posting pics of the bust at sdcc. the last one in particular looks great. the paintwork is absolutely beautiful, like an automotive job. this is the kind of paintwork the ss iron man busts should've had.

however, i am also concerned about the paint slop at the sides of the face where it meets the jawguard. it kinda kills the realism a little.

I agree about the paint where it meets the jawguard. It could've been done better.

Some of the pics display a sloppy paint app around the face just inside the chin guard.

What pics did you see this in? Not challenging, just curious.

No worries. Some of the ones on the link I posted look a bit dodgey. Now that I mention it, the roundness of the bolt section on the side looks skewiff too.

I noticed that also. But everything else looks so good about it. I'll probably just get some black paint and fix it up. No biggee.

Anybody else remember back in the day when you had to assemble and paint any statue you wanted to have? Man, that Inteleg Spawn kit was a pain.

I also read on statue forum that the bust is being held to the base by a cheap $2 "L" bracket.....hmm

Still keeping my order though, infact...Im thinking I will get two. You know this thing will be twice the price in a year or two.

I think I saw that in a pic somewhere. That is kind of funny.

I don't think we're gonna get a better Robocop 1:1 bust anytime soon.

But I'm not getting it because I don't think anything better is around the corner. I'm getting it because I like it........alot.

And what makes you so sure of that? SS has what, maybe 100-200 left of these and it still hasn't sold out. If this was a Predator 2 bust, it would have been sold out in hours with that ES. There's a reason why the ES is so low to begin with. There's a small demand for it.

And what makes you so sure of that? SS has what, maybe 100-200 left of these and it still hasn't sold out. If this was a Predator 2 bust, it would have been sold out in hours with that ES. There's a reason why the ES is so low to begin with. There's a small demand for it.

Thanks! Unflattering? Seriously? I think they look amazing. As for the L bracket, as long as it is solidly attached, it doesn't matter to me.

Don't get me wrong I am still super excited about receiving it. I have the 1:1 IM bust so I can definately live with issues with it may have.

Cool. Yeah, one thing I am noticing as I look at it more and more are that there seems to be pretty big gaps between the teeth. I think I'm obsessing about this thing way too much though...

Even with all the stuff coming out this year at SDCC, I am still more excited about this bust than anything else.

I am gonna end up cracking and ordering either Neytiri, Obi Wan or Maul. Or wait for Vader in that line. There has been way too much good stuff this year and I've already promised the other half I would stop.
