A little "birdie" told me that if you look hard enough on Ebay, you'll find a Mark II Iron Man 1:1 Bust.....The one we've dreamed that SS would make with the remaining Mark III 1:1 Busts.

I'm not going to post the auction number as I don't want to ruin it for others who are watching it currently (and out of mere respect,) but I found this quite noteworthy. It looks to be VERY well done. Everything I imagined it would be.

Luckily for me I ordered mine tru a Sideshow retailer, they usually inspected it before they ask me to pick it up. They return it already 3 times, and showed it to me if I want to keep it. But the flawed I got is all in the face and very noticible. And as the owner of the LCS said it's unacceptable for this price.

Well is arrived and Im totally blown away, its by no means perfect, there area few tiny scratches on the back of the head but you really have to look for them, and there is paint missing on the inside collar but again you would never see it unless you cranked your head round from the back, and one of the black lines is slightly out, other than that he is fantastic. I can live with the tiny defects as I dot think I would ever see a replacement, anyaway some pics of the defects and then the bust itself.

Just phoned PLAY about the defects and they offered me a 10% refund, very happy with that:chew

Now it feels like a real car ( real soft). The paint is now even, no dark spots. BTW this is not repainted.

Yesterday Play.com said they had none in stock. Now it says they do. I know that a few of the people that ordered from them returned thiers due to imperfections. What are the chances that these 'in stock' ones are the returns?

Well worth the couple of hours effort, I wish I could get mine to look that good. How did you do it without re-painting it. I dont want to play around with mine too much in case I end up rubbing the paint off or damaging it. Cheers

Mine is shiny and glossy, but that is extra glossy. What did you do to accomplish that?

Also, what kind of paint did SideShow use on the bust and on what material.

I've polished the whole thing.

First i've started with "Commandant 4"
Then i've used "Car love"

Both are products for polishing a car.

You can rub really hard, exept for the faceplate ( rub gentil). There is a lot of paint on the bust. When you wax the bust it'll shine immediately and be a lot softer like a new car. Finished with the rough spots.
