Failure to build a solid universe is definitely one of ‘em

What would you like to see introduced instead?

With the DCEU we got Metropolis, smallville, Krypton, Gotham, Themyscira, Atlantis, black gate, etc. I’m sure I’m forgetting a few.

Standard dc fair. Again when you create a universe these things have to connect and flow naturally. Yes these places were there but that’s pretty much standard dc places that MUST be present in the story . Also I never got a hood sense of identity from these places. We barely saw gotham and black gate. With Marvel everything felt connected and woven together.

Don't waste your time with serious discussion Snoop. All he's got are quick one liners to troll you.
Instead of coming up with a good argument you call me a troll yet again. Hilarious. You haven’t added anything to the discussion whatsoever except “Snyder good everything else bad”. This is exactly why I’m glad your universe that you lobbied for is good and buried. Fans like you who rather call someone a troll then just have a decent conversation which is what snoop is doing with me are very annoying. Don’t bother coming into a dc thread if all ur going to do is cry if someone doesn’t like the Snyder cut or whatever. Hate to break it to ya but the Snyder bashing has just begun!
Lol
Also what one liners are you talking about? Lol. My man thinks I’m Jim Carrey all of a sudden. 😂

This is literally you but the other way around.
You say they didn't world build. Someone provides examples of world-building. You say that isn't world-building because Snyder bad etc.
I ask for examples and you tell me to watch go and watch 30 movies.

Here we are 2 days later and you have yet to give an example of world-building that can be discussed. Well, other than you 'feel' Marvel did it well.

I told you to watch a comic franchise that did world building. If you honestly think 3 movies built up that universe then you’re hilarious. I gave you an example but like always you refuse to listen. Many people have given you examples on why the Snyder verse failed compared to the marvel verse. It’s not rocket science. Talking to you is like a kid putting his hands in his ears and says “ I’m not listening. I’m not listening!”

I’ll tell you again so you can understand.
World building isn’t just names and locations. It’s creating a universe that feels connected and flows together.
For example the infinity saga. Everything felt connected. The snyderverse felt thrown together. There was no build up, the locations barely had any identity. The characters just appeared. We were just thrown in the universe and told important moments through exposition or terrible cameos like in bvs. I don’t “feel” marvel did well. They did. If they didn’t then we wouldn’t have this conversation.

But go ahead and say what you will lol. I know I’m the bad guy for bashing on Snyder but I know I am beating a dead horse at this point. But the discussion are to fun lol.
But ok lemme stop

It's not that I don't listen, it's that my opinion is either different to yours or you do a poor job of explaining. I'm not saying I'm any better but the whole point of communication is what the receiver interprets, otherwise what is the point? I do have mild autism so that will factor into it.

Are you saying the 3 movies couldn't possibly do enough or they simply didn't do enough?

There you go again. 'Feels' connected and flows together. For me, I 'feel' that the 4-5 movies under Snyder did more world-building and feel vastly more connected than the first 6 Marvel movies. The MCU is littered with coincidences and plot holes that only get more so as the movies plough on and they recast two decent size parts in the first 4 years. If I go and watch the first three movies they did nowhere near the amount of world-building and if I watch all 30 movies they have had vastly more time to do so.

Marvel has done exceptionally well there's no denying that. They have done what no other studio has done before and probably won't again. I think that getting there first helped as they had no comparison to be concerned with and they went for a broader approach making them more accessible to a bigger audience. Doing it that way meant the stakes don't feel as big and they have diluted a fair chunk of what made them work so well in the beginning and now the audience is so invested they can churn out anything and they will still make decent numbers for the foreseeable future no matter the quality.

Nope that’s not it at all. I have no idea what you were watching but the first couple of movies were connected well. The Snyder verse was just a poor attempt. You don’t just take established heroes and throw them in and rush to the big finale meet up you have to develop the characters and the world first

I never said the first few MCU movies weren't connected well. They are.

So how many movies does it take? And for how many heroes?

Really?
Ok so if you are building towards a JL movie. And you want to compete with a rival franchise and you have a roster of probably about 7 characters . Two movies isn’t going to build towards your goal. If you wanna do it the right way and build towards a universe that’s cohesive the characters and world need to be fleshed out. Introducing every character in a quick cameo was lazy. Wonder Woman should have only appeared at the end of bvs to build up her movie then after her movie is aquaman then you can do JL

I agree with @ironwez20 ... I can see what they were trying to do with the DCEU but IMO they failed because they didn't take their time to build up stakes and develop characters. I don't necessarily think it was all bad, just executed clumsily and rushed. No doubt they didn't want to be a carbon copy of the MCU roadmap, so they tried to go their own way; I don't necessarily think the security footage thing was terrible, just not enough. The rest of the issues veer into stylistic territory but Snyder's pretty divisive so I won't get into that.

Avengers and Infinity War, for example ... and Civil War ... having those characters come together felt like it was earned. Watching the JL team up lacked the same weight in spite of wanting to see the characters on screen together. Maybe it was just a question of anticipation being drawn out. Feige had the time and the nerve to do it, back in the day.

Do you think X-Men should have had solo movies before bringing them all together? If not, why not?

What would you say was clumsy about the first 4 DCEU movies leading into Justice League? Granted it was rushed via comparison to the MCU.

I think this whole "earned" thing is a by-product of the MCU and not in a good way. Until the MCU came out I don't believe anyone would think the DCEU was rushed. It's like if Star Wars was re-made now people would be claiming you can't start a movie universe off with Luke, Leia, Han, Obi-Wan, Chewie, R2, 3PO and Darth Vader all in the first movie, that's rushed.

Exactly, however you can't put all that on Snyder, when it was Emmerich and the execs who were fast tracking everything to catch up with Marvel and get their billions dollar movies with no build up to earn it.

In any case it is how it is, and no one is going to change anyones minds here at this point. You either have followed this from the start and know the intricacies or you don't.

Lol. Xmen and the justice league are two totally different things.
Edit let me not call your question stupid but it’s silly to even ask that

Don’t exactly blame Snyder for everything but to say the guy was a genius and had everything on the right path is hilarious

So you think Superman dying in his second film was a good thing? Ok.
