She's drop dead gorgeous but can we have a real actress and warrior now please? 😄

Also I see the rumour about that **** star johnny sins being cast as lex luthor is doing the rounds again, am sure there's no substance to it but would be interesting....

The Gunn regime has been talking out of both sides of their mouths regarding this reboot, almost from the very beginning.

Even before this Gal Gadot story, they were already backpedaling on the hard reboot idea, mentioning that other actors like Zachary Levi and Jason Mamoa might be back to reprise their Shazam and Aquaman characters and that no decision had been made regarding Ezra Miller and Gal Gadot coming back as The Flash and Wonder Woman, respectively. Gunn had even stated in interviews that the DCU was going to be a soft reboot with the events of “The Flash” being the catalyst for the in-universe reset,

Now that “Shazam 2” and “The Flash” have severely underperformed at the box office, I’m sure they’ve already pivoted from that.

As someone who didn’t even want the reboot to begin with, I also have to concede that I don’t see the point of doing a reboot as a half measure. If you’re going to reboot the universe, reboot the universe, but really the whole vision was already compromised the moment they admitted that the cast of Peacemaker were “getting a pass.”

At this point, it’s obvious that general audiences are either confused by the mixed messaging or they’ve just given up on DC altogether. The box office performance for the past few DC movies has been terrible.

I truly do not understand why Batgirl got the axe when Blue Beetle, Flash, and Aquaman 2 are still coming. I kind of think that EVERYTHING should have been shelved. While I think that a general audience can come to terms with hard reboots or soft reboots (look at the decades of comic book history for a real world example. Or the continuing BO performance of Batman or Spiderman movies), it is nearly impossible to get anyone excited for a story that is advertised as going nowhere. You can't announce a reboot AND keep the old stuff coming. Either/Or. So it seems stupidly easy to just give up on DC movies until Superman LEgacy comes out. I actually liked the previous concept of "Legends" style storytelling- Each film can exist on its own merits and reliance on a general cannon rather than something super specific cannon, allowing for a more casual approach to movie-going as opposed to the can't-miss-anything-its-all-connected nature of the MCU.

They can't take the loss hit if everything is shelved.
I think now they are trying to take small profits, whatever they can get, back from those movies before the actual hard reboots.

It is a bit baffling that Batgirl is the only release that got singled out for cancellation. Had they released The Flash first and kept its original ending (or the Michael Deluca and Pam Abdy ending for that matter), the Batgirl movie would have still made sense and arguably could have been released. I could hardly imagine it doing any worse than the last three DC movies that were released.

In terms of general audiences being able to follow hard reboots or soft reboots, I agree, as long as it’s clearly explained to them. The problem with what DC is doing, in my opinion, is that they’ve really not made it clear to people what they’re doing. With the exception of Henry Cavill, who they stated was definitely out, there’s been a bunch of double talk about who’s out in the new DCU and who’s sticking around.
