Is anyone else having trouble seeing Sir Ian in this sculpt? It seems a bit distorted. Something is not bringing out the character well enough.

No problem guys :)

Its as good a Gandalf thats out there. Really qutie a superb likeness to Sir Ian IMO. Looking at film stills I feel this way.

Which sculpt do you guys like better- the PF or the 12" figure?

I am kind of leaning towards the PF to be honest. I have yet to be really thrilled with a Gandalf sculpt though.

I'm not seeing the likeness, either. And I'm definitely not happy about the price tag (she says while beating the dead horse). This pushes me that much closer to the door out of collecting. :(

I think I like the 1:6th a little better but honestly both are pretty dead on. There really isn't a high end GTG/GTW piece I haven't owned or seen. This 1:6th is probably the best rep of GTG out there.

I think the PF likeness is too... I dunno... Disney-ish. It also reminds me of those paintings of crying dogs that were all the rage in the 70's.

I really like the 1:6 Gandalf. its not perfect though.

All right, Sideshow wins...

I just re-ordered the Exclusive that I cancelled yesterday.

BUT....

I used Rewards Points to make it $60!

So, I will be paying what I feel this figure is worth. Ha, Sideshow... HA! :monkey5

("But IrishJedi, you also just used 600 Rewards Points for your discount!")

:D ... :monkey5 ... ... ... :monkey4 ... :monkey2 ... :monkey2

Oh, what the hell. I'm getting Gandalf The Grey! :chew

I'm not thrilled about the pricing jumping to $90 on any of these figures cause its gonna cause me to throttle things back. Which sucks! Still GTG only cost me $8.

Guilty as charged!

However, in my defense I still have yet to procure a PF Boba Fett... even at the low eBay rates it goes for these days. I do have some collector's principles.

Hmmm...nope. Still weak.:lol

No but I mean the sculpt isn't really capturing Gandalf that well for me. Something just seems a bit off.

Rory, you don't see Gandy in this? I think this is the one area that he shines.

dont forget the detail that went into both staves. im sure that was a tedious task sculpting those out in 1/6 scale. people are judging the price on the number of accessories not the quality. they look perfect to me. i say this figure is worth it. its exactly how i wanted my gandalf to be.
