With two versions of his chain weapon, one with real chain to hang and look badass and another made of rubber with a wire inside so you can pose it.

Chain weapon? Are you thinking of the Witch-King's long flail? Sauron had only a mace, with no chain, but it was the lord of the Nazgul that used a flail (often incorrectly called a mace).

Since they were talking about Sauron, not the lord of the Nazgul, its plain what they were talking about, Mr. Smarty-pants. :nono :lol

im just messing with ya cap. here let me help you:

I was looking at this and am actually surprised the regular is still available for pre-order. I've never had a 12 inch figure before, and have been thinking about delving into the line a bit, I've always been kind of turned off by the articulation points being visible in the joints of the limbs, and the likeness not being the best. Now I have the GTW PF and I'm not holding out much hope that SS will do a GTG in PF form. So I was thinking of ordering this so I could have my GTG and GTW. Now this would be my first 12 inch figure and I was wondering if you guys think it would be a good choice for me to grab while it's still available.

Being a fan of 12-inch figures, I would say of course it's a good idea to get it. I don't really think your qualms about visible articulation are justified. Most of Sideshow's figures have the articulation completely covered by clothing. The only exception in the LOTR line are the feet of the hobbits (something that I think they could have handled better). When the articulation is hidden, these figures are like posable statues, which is what I love about them.

If you don't mind waiting a few weeks to get it after they first come out, getting it from a reseller will save you some money. Also, the history of the line and of Sideshow's 12-inch figures in general has shown that these will not exactly be hard to find in the future, and probably for less than Sideshow is currently selling them for, so you don't necessarily have to feel like you need to grab it this instant. I would expect them to be fairly easy to come by on the secondary market.

as a collector of only 1/6 scale id say you're crazy not to get him if you like gandalf. crazy i say. i love this line so much and that gandalf looks perfect. im sure the final product will look better yet.
