Gandalf 12" up for order!

Discussions at SDCC left many of us feeling we're very near the end.

I don't really collect all the LOTR stuff Sideshow puts out but the 1/6 was something I really liked and still collect, I'm guessing LOTR's is just not selling well enough considering how big of a juggernaut Starwars is and how obscure some the LOTR characters are. I can imagine they are tired of making edition sizes of 1k or more and the product just sitting in there warehouse. They should at least try to rap up the Fellowship before things end, it kind of leaves a bad taste in the mouths of people that have supported this line from the beginning.

This isn't the first time I've read someone saying this but they never elaborate on just what was said at SDCC that leads them to that conclusion.

Sideshow can at least pump out the remaining hobbits. That should be too problematic for them. As for a Gimli, I am not that optimistic.

Someone had posted their LOTR figures with a Gimli from another company and I thought it looked awesome! If I can find that thread, I'd like to know the name of the company so I could see if I could get my hands on one of them if Sideshow doesn't make one.

Anyone remember it?

I think it was FlyandFight, a fellow board member, who posted it. The Gimli was by ToyBiz, if I recall correctly.

I think the ToyBiz one is in-scale. It's the SS hobbits that are out-of-scale. They're def. a bit too large.

get some 1/6 scale phonebooks for gimli to stand on and you'll be in good shape. seriously, that is a nice figure though.

I think it's looks great and it looks to scale to me. Heck if worse comes to worse, that's a great substitute. Thanks for posting the pics!

I am definitely keeping my pre-order for GTG. Even if SS does not complete the Fellowship, GTG will still looks great when posed singly or with the 2 Hobbits that most of us already have in-hand.

But it sure looks increasingly likely that I may have to start "hunting" around for a Toybiz Gimli soon.

I must be standing next to you though because I'm pretty much out too at this point. I didn't get the Hobbits, I'll probably cancel Gandalf and about the only two figures that would entice me at this point are Gimli (to complete the three hunters) or a Nazgul.

There's just too much other stuff right now that takes precedence and the line has to be drawn somewhere. As much as I love LOTR, the 1:6 line just isn't quite doing it for me at the moment.

As long as it takes for each piece to come out, I figure I'll just order it and by the time it gets to shipping, I'll be ready for it. I hope they continue the line. I want as many 1/6 as they're willing to make.
