I cancelled my Jabba and throne. I just couldn't justify paying that kind of money for it.:D

That sounds like something Hasbro would do. Plastic would look bad.
I'd have to disagree with you on that, I think Sideshow could make a high quality plastic Throne base. The problem with Hasbro is that they weren't trying to make high quality items, just playable toys that would easily sell in walmarts.

Having taken the time at SDCC to marvel at the Jabba display, I really came away feeling that it was closer to the level of a PF figure in terms of size, quality and visual impact. Getting Jabba and his throne will cost about the same as the Boba Fett PF, and both are wonderful examples of the very best of what can be achieved in their respective scales. I very much prefer 1/4 scale pieces to the 1/6 figures, but this is one case where I think that a 12" scale item really does achieve the level of quality found in the PF line.

I keep forgetting how huge this thing is. Just look at the size of it relative to three grown men:

Ahh... if people keep posting this kind of information, they might realize that $200 is way to much for a polystone throne. Way to much. Have a look around the SSC web side to see what else you can buy from that kind of money! Just for the record: ordering the throne costs a EU collector $270, shipping and taxes included.... I know, I know, I can still cancel the thing.

$270... the Weta Balrog was only $30 more at the time. Man, I should have ordered it!

It was ALOT more to get it shipped to Australia. Hence I dropped it as well.

When I first saw the price of the jabba trio,I though, Man what a bargain !!!!Seriously.

..And for the same value some people will still buy a Patient Zero over this set...

This is where I'm supposed to come in and say you are poor and just can't afford it.

i agree with most of you. its way too much money for this piece. i havent ordered it, but with all the other stuff shipping in the next month or two i can only hope that there are a couple delays because my list is way too long. SS needs to plan the shipping dates a little better. they go 2-3 months without anything shipping, then all of a sudden it seems like they unleash everything on us at once.

upcoming is:
Legolas, Boromir, all the Jedi/Sith 12"ers, white queen, Captain America PF, and stuff from other companies.
unless there are delays i will most definitely need to make some cancellations and hope to pick them up later.

My wife keeps saying this to me......

She'll get used to the slug though.

Yeah, I didn't realize how big the Jabba set up was until I saw that pic. Even though I used to have an Attakus jabba, I just never really thought about the size of this one. The only reason I cancelled is I just don't have any space at the moment and I am pretty sure I will still be able to get this down the line at a reasonable price.

Hey if you are thinking about cancelling your LOTR 12"ers and they are the exclusive versions, don't hesitate to drop me a pm. :D Seriously... I mean it. PM me if you cancel them ... I want them.

I have to admit that so far, the value of the Star Wars 12" line has not held up over time. You can hardly sell an unopened exclusive figure for enough money to recoup your original investment, after eBay and Paypal fees. As it stands now, you should have no problem getting any Sideshow Star Wars item for a good price on eBay--even the exclusives.

Yeah, but that's good for those that have missed things. Get these into more collectors hands like us that want to keep them.

Jabba's huge though. One of the biggest damn piecse I've ever seen.

Without knowing the final ES, it's near impossible to know what he's going to do in the secondary market.

He is LARGE, but, the best judge of his scale is to look at shots of him with one of the Sideshow 12" figures right next to him in the setup to get a more accurate look, because some of the shots with people near him have skewed perceptions and make him look more enormous than he truly is. I own the Jaws maquette Sideshow made, which is 28" in length, actually measured, but it's listed that way on Sideshow's site, and Jabba is listed at 20" in length on their site, and should be the same in reality, and my Jaws maquette wouldn't even hide human heads like this picture above makes Jabba seem to do, so don't let a picture like this make up your mind if he's too be for your home. Get out a measuring tape, look at Sideshow's posted measurements for Jabba and the throne, block them out in your mind with the tape, and then judge.
