it has been said that the friendly fire on left 4 dead forces you to act like a team a pick your shots, surely that can be the same for gears
Not when it comes to mortar, or for instance when a teammate is down or in a chainsaw battle and you shoot the boomshot before the other player can finish them. I don't want to take out my teammate in the process. Friendly fire is the default for L4D, not for Gears.

only competitive if you want it to be
Everyone gets competetive, especially during close games.

But that's cool IMO. You can't just take big weapons and carpet bomb. You have to be select and careful.

I know, crazy thought huh?

Honestly the only problem I have is with Mortar and frags. I hate that I can run by my own teams planted frags. That's just stupid. And mortar is such a destructive weapon that it should take out whoever is under it.

And it's nothing against Josh. I love when Josh picks it up because he becomes an easy kill while camping back with it. It just seems to make sense in general.

Why do I need friendly fire for something I always do? I am constantly communicating and letting my team know the gameplan.

Yeah ill you do for sure, but there are many who don't and this would force it a little more. I mean seriously it's a little silly to be able to just grab a big weapon and carpet bomb 6 people and only kill the enemy while your team mates run right through it.

No one is saying leave it on ALL the time either. Just once in a while to change up how people have to play and make it a little more tactical once in a while.

I wasn't referring to you. The one thing I love about playing on your team is we're always talking to each other. I just hate that you always kill everyone before I get a chance to :monkey2

But there are many here (not picking on anyone even though you are all gonna think I am) that rarely or never communicate about location and who's where with what weapon. In a squad based game, you'd think that would be common sense.

1) Aww shucks

2) Yeah, I hear you on that.

Yeah, what a jerk! :lol
Someone's gotta do it since you can't! :lol

Are you getting on again Loki I enjoyed killing you the other night:D

We'll see how well the patches do what they're supposed to. I got really burned out on this game and had a bunch of single player games that I've been going through. Not to mention the host advantage has seemed worse than it ever was in Gears 1 lately

I try to talk quite a bit myself or at least I think I do.

No offense taken. It does make me an easier kill when I pick it up since its a heavier weapon. Its a risk with that weapon for sure but the reward is pretty darn worth it.
