I would finish the first one but you can always join the guys in some MP matches and unlock some achievements.

Yes Tom, it would be better to finish Gears I before playing through II. The story line kind of continues from the first to the second... although you could play II without having any knowledge of the first.

The controls are just different enough compared to other games that I can't quite get the hang of it.

man if they are making a prequel i want them set in the Pendulum wars. they can get a whole trilogy out of that. characters are already established with just a couple new ones to add in.

Was on our local news awhile back. Epic is from around here and one of the games developers was interviewed and said they plan on making atleast 3 more gears games and one would be a prequel.

If they make the prequel game about the pendulum wars, just base it off of the novel that was released prior to Gears 2. I could be good with that.
