wow...going for the jugular already. the PS3 has a hard cookie to crack. i was hoping for 4 player co-op in part 2. i'm still hoping that we'll get some prequel games that take place during the Pendulum Wars.

Actually this would make sense and fit with Microsoft's rumored strategy to rotate Halo and Gears as there big releases. We have the new Halo game of which the name escapes me at the moment coming fall of 09 so Gears 3 for 2010 would make sense.

Gears 2 tweaked the game play from Gears 1 the chain saw duels were cool. But again the story as far as I'm concerned fell short. Hopefully Gears 3 will wrap everything up in a nice little package and redeem all the story flaws of the first two games.

the halo game is Halo: ODST (i think) and i'm pretty happy with the story for Gears 2. the first one wasn't that great itself, but i play these games for the awesome gameplay.

Yeah I think that's it. The game all around was improved over the first, so I do have high hopes for Gears 3, I've haven't played much of Gears 2 aside from the campaign, so I cant really speak on behalf of things like the multilayer and what not.

I believe it has sold well but they need to refine the online play to get longevity out of the game, it was last at number 3 listed behind Halo 3 and COD World At War.

I could see them doing a prequel for the Pendulum Wars after their done with the main story with the Locust. I mean this game prints cash for Epic.

well if the initial sales for the launch day are anything they are golden.

and yes...i've been wanting to know the story since part one. i just read the book Aspho Fields to get a little bit of insight on what happened, but i think Epic can do it. maybe add Carlos into the storyline as a playable character?
