Really? You think the story in this is as good as the Marcus and his father storyline...or Dom and Maria...or even poor Carmine? I have to scratch my head on that one. If I didn't already care for Baird and Cole from the previous games...I would have had zero emotional attachment to any of these characters.

I rate this game a 6.5/10 and that bums me out.

I said its on par. I didn't say I think it was better. I do think it was a worthy addition to the series and I enjoyed it quite a bit. There is more emotion overall in the Marcus/Dom storyline than here but that is built up over three games. Baird/Cole play backup roles in that series and you either like them or don't. I like them both because of the games and the books. So for me getting to play in their sandbox seeing what some things were like for them was fun.

This game I think was made for people who have that attachment for the characters from the previous games or from reading the books/comics.

I'd give this a 8/10.

I'm scratching my head that you would find this story on par with the others...never said you said it was better. :lol

I loved the first 3 games...and read the books. If this was a game where we really got to know Baird and Cole, I would have liked it. Only thing I learned was how Baird got demoted to Private. There just wasn't an emotional story in this game...which is what I had come to expect from the previous games. I loved these games because there was great combat and a compelling, often times, heart wrenching story. I just didn't feel anything with this game...it was fun but sure didn't make me want to play it again.

To me this game felt more like a DLC...and if that was all it was...I would rate it higher. But for a $60 game....it left a lot to be desired.

I don't know what to tell ya. :dunno The story wasn't as much of an emotional impact as the other stories but I had a lot of fun finding out some things about Baird/Cole. I feel like I got my $60 out of it and enjoyed the story.

I would expect that reply from you Josh. :lol

I'm glad you like it. We obviously just have different ideas about what makes a good $60 game. :duff

My thoughts exactly Jen :lecture

I do feel they released a $30 game for $60; whats worse, VIP is Another $20, so its really an $80 cost with a $30 value

From a money point of view, this game is an utter rip off.

Figured I'd ask here, but if you have preorder codes for Anya, Young Cole or young Dom, willing to buy them for a reasonable price...pm if you had one you are willing to part with...

*and yes, I appreciate the irony of my inquiry in light of my statement, lol*

I guess I'm really retarded because I thought the presentation alone made this one of the better Gears stories. :slap:rotfl:yess:

I bought the VIP pass. Ill continue to play the mp from time to time and if they add any dlc missions that would be cool as well. I see myself playing the Story Mode several times like I have with previous Gears games so it was worth $60 to me.

Can't you play the story with 4 people coop? I would like to try that at some point. I'm all BioShock at the moment.

I think so. Playing with the declassified stuff on there are parts you may have to have it. Going to pick my copy of that up tomorrow.

Well Epic just did something huge. First update tomorrow that includes execution mode and a new map. Oh and it's free. :rock

Played a couple Execution matches today, and it just doesn't work with these Judgment maps. They are just way too large that it really interferes with this mode more than anything.

After letting it sink in, the story isn't on the same level as the trilogy for me. However, I still enjoyed it and have the season pass so I'll continue to play. If you guys want to do 4 player coop on insane, I'm in.
